Sorry it diddn't happen for you - would you not try to pursue another avenue of funding??
Cheers, I did look into other avenues (other investors, finacing it myself), but I couldn't make it work. It's still on the back-burner though (dormant company, domain name still registered); one never knows what will develop gazm said:
I appreciate your advice and will look into a brokership type of business - although I'm not sure how it works.
Establish contacts and relationships with existing companies and owners. Agree a commission per hire. You market yourself as an "Any Fast Car Hire" company. People send you a request for a certain car or type, you conatct your contacts and sort a few options. The customer then deals directly with the owner or hirer who then pays you your commission. No stock. Positive cashflow. Limited Risk.Do remember though that level of risk is directly correlated to level of profit.
Matt, franchisees are effectively the clubs salesmen. We invested in the business initially to provide the start up capital to launch, and for that, we have the ability to recruit members.
For each member we recruit, we earn a small commission. It's never going to make anyone (including the MD) a millionaire, but it is enjoyable and that to me, is worth more than money.
I enjoy the ethos and believe in Group20 to such a degree that when I was offered directorship of the company earlier this year, I said yes. (Whilst still retaining my franchise).
It's a fantastic company, both for the members and the associates.

From what I have heard all is not as rosy as it seems with a Group 20 franchise. I suggest you research as much as possible independently before making your mind up. I know from experience that the franchise schemes offered by the Vehicle Options people do not necessarily match up to the promises made. The Group 20 supercar club is for all I know probably Ok but when you are considering investing a lot of money in a franchise it makes sense to be as sure as possible. This is good advice in any business situation.
