Just looking at that website gives me a headache! hehe
It's a horrible looking site I agree, but it's got a good discussion board and it's also good for financials and you can even see live trades for a few minutes if you don't want to get Level 2.

Lol, you and your level 2 feeds... I may take some screenshots tomorrow to demonstrate the, er, use of them!

I'd love to see them.

Level 2 provides the PI with a bit more insight to what's happening in the market rather than just looking at a bid/offer price that's delayed 15 minutes. It levels the playing field up a bit.

I've been taking screenshots, but there really isn't anything very exciting to show yet (apart from a demonstration of a crap trade).

What were you hoping to show with these screenshots anyway?

I was really hoping for a lot of spoof orders, but there weren't all that many there today, and I didn't really capture any.

I have five screenshots so far...

Having live LIFFE, Eurex, LSE etc feeds here I think I'll do without 'level 2' thanks.

Still, it's a great site to point at when people ask what a website shouldn't look like.

But then i'm guessing you're not a PI like the OP. I'd take the best source of information available to me so if I could access all the feeds the pros get i'd be in there like a shot.

You could always call up reuters and get a free trial of 3000 xtra for a month, then do the same for bloomberg, then thomson etc...

Gary, if you are that keen why not try a stintat one of the futures jobbing bucket shops for a while?..You sound young enough to jump to something else if it's not for you?.....most investment banks see this kind of trading as a zero sum game and tend not to get involved, you might find it's not quite as easy as you think...which is always a good lesson wink

It's a possibility and is on my list of alternatives to the graduate route at an investment bank. I think some of the suggestions in my other thread that people made are higher on the list though. I am quite young I add too tongue out I realise it's not always easy and you can't win with every trade, so i'm already starting to slowly learn that.

As I mentioned on the other thread I really do not think it is the best route to take at all, but you seem so desperate to play smile...One thing the banks do like is to take a keen graduate and not only mould them, but instill loyalty with a line of career progression....there is a chance the futures clipping can make a candidate appear as slightly damaged goods!

At the risk of this turning into thread drift of the century....

I enjoyed my time there, and was lucky enough to see the floor running in all its colourful glory. Shame when most of the IT went to Docklands, but hey, that might not be forever wink

Ah, for the days of going down The Banker most lunchtimes, with its sticky carpets and water running off the light fittings. Trying to order a drink off Brian and never knowing if he was actually looking at you due to his wonky eyes. Once they cleaned the place up it was never the same....

Which bit do you work for?

Agreed, thread drift but hey..

I was attracted from my teens by the thought of working on / around a trading floor..shame it was turned into a cafe and a few offices..

I am over in Canary Wharf frown although manage to make it back there once a week or so.

Think it was called GPD or delivery management when you were there.

Is the grass actually greener..?
