Hi,

Am half way to fixing my wife's key as the remote parts is working but the key is not until installed after work. Had to order a new flip remote form Amazon as permantley damaged the battery spring.

Still no insurance quote so will chase. I've also thought of a replacement service to add the keys and mobile/tablet repairs and thought is domestic appliance servicing/repairs.I'm after feedback on what to call the service as was going to call key part as keyhero but can I call the other 2 services the same? Or should I call the whole service as repair god or something similar?

Thanks for all help

One of the insurers has confirmed they will not cover car keys repair and computer, phone and tablet repair but will cover domestic appliance repair.

Any suggestions for small business insurance or should I just Google local brokers?

Have gone away for half term. Still haven't got the flip part of the key working and have watched the sellers video on YouTube again and it appears you can't re-use the old key as it won't fit which wasn't what I was expecting.

Sounds like a great idea. Good luck!
One thing you must remember here - quality of your service is very important but what is also important - quality of customer service you provide to your clients. Most of them want to get replies from you immediately and this is easily solved with the Microsoft Teams tool or similar.

Personally I can think of nothing more liable to be a complete ballache and more trouble than it's worth than selling refurbished electronics to members of the public, but I hope you prove me wrong. Best of luck with it.

If you want a quick side gig sell “sneaker” cleaning kits on Facebook / Tiktok with a few kids doing demonstrations on video.

It’s less likely to get you accused of stealing cars etc.

I'm on minimum wage for part time contract for a job I don't really care about.

I'm looking for similar side gigs to the key idea. Low startup cost.

Don't have a tiktok account but do have Facebook
Can do Shopify websites
Don't mind importing in small quantities from overseas
Don't mind having to ship stuff myself

Thanks

As the key idea isn't going to be a goer I'm waiting on the insurance broker on whether I can offer a warranty to make a difference to the competition
