Not exactly business advice, more career advice. 'Don't worry about whether it's a secure job, worry about whether you'll develop marketable skills.'
The first paragraph was meant as business advice - I gave my career up when I started my business.
Interesting concept. 'Career' is what other people choose to give you. 'Life' is what you choose for yourself, if you have the wits.

"A penny saved is better than a penny earned"
Why? Coz it doesn't cost you anything to save a penny.

On the subject of time management:

1) Before you go home make a list of all the things that you need to do the next day.

2) Prioritise the six most important ones.

3) If you do nothing else the next day, do those.

Some things on the list will never get done. Thus maybe they weren't that important anyway.

(Posting on PH isn't even on my list of things to do I should probably add!).

Whilst I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment, it is something to be thought about carefully. Any business owner will, ideally, have set a price on his time. If it's, say, £30 an hour then every minute he spends costs 50p. That means that if it takes him 5 minutes to save a pound, he's lost money.

There's a similar tale about Bill Gates: if he stops what he's doing to pick up a £20 note found on the floor he's allegedly out of pocket smile

I don't know why the following haven't been mentioned so far-

"A stitch in time saves nine"

and

"Strike while the iron is hot"

Don't waste your time shouting at frogs; it seems some 50% may be deaf. Possibly caused by loud petrol driven rotary lawnmowers that are popular these days.
