been asked a question on a supplier form in relation "Employers Liability"

the question is "Does cover include: Liability assumed under contract? and Indemnity to any principal?"

Can anyone explain this to me? I've have a look through our terms and I belive "NO" is the answer to both. (Before I try an get an answer from the Insurers which may take ages)

Thanks David

David,

Many liability policies (but not all) automatically extend to include liability assumed under contract (some contracts extend your common law liability and the extent of this additional liability may need to be examined by your insurer) and indemnity to principals (i.e., confirmation that the cover extends to include your principal/employer in the event that they were to seek indemnity from you). However, this is one of those occasions where you will need to ask your broker to confirm cover. Most brokers should be able to issue a "To Whom It May Concern" letter confirming the extent of cover on your policy. Alternatively, I guess that you're being asked to confirm your cover for a particular contract and there may be a confirmation of cover questionnaire to complete. Again, your broker should be able to quickly complete this on your behalf.

Any problems, please PM me.
