My dad said to me that he wants to open up a post office in my name (I'm 21, have gcses, a levels, and degree all at A-C grades/2.1)

The reason being is that it's guaranteed income (fixed wage), and I hire someone to manage the shop on a day to day basis and then visit every day or every other day to check up on things.

The application process seems lax, as my cousin runs one and she and her husband have no formal qualifications, like I do. So if they can get one, I'm sure I could. My dad said I'd have to go into a partnership with him as I'm too young.

Does anyone here run a post office? Any advice?

Is this a sound investment? The post office has been in trouble (Royal Mail).

not a long term strategy in my opinion.the post office need to shut dowm more branches.my brother had one in a town centre location 80k salary and even that was closed down.why not use your qualifications and get a decent job or look for other business opportunities
Fair enough.

This one is based in a small village, and is the only one there.

I have been looking for a job but no luck so may go freelance, but the security of a post office would be ideal.

Any other words of advice?

Thanks
