Can Landlord Seize Stock?

A friend has supplied a company who has not been able to pay so wants to retrieve his stock. The friend is based in Holland.
The purchaser has also not paid his rent so has been evicted from his premises.
The Landlord will not allow the purchaser onto site until the rent has been paid and will not allow my friend in to take the stuff back.
What's the legal situation? I would have thought that the receivers would distribute the wealth amongst the creditors but my friend seems to think that a carefully worded letter to the landlord will do the trick.
Anu opinions would be great. Proper free legal advice would be better.
