Recommend me a home laser printer
Discussion
I am after a home laser printer that is preferably quite compact. Only needs to print and happy with black&white (the wife may disagree though)...
Other requirements are:
1. No subscriptions for toner / ink etc.
2. Ideally no "cloud connected" anti-features.
Only other thing is nothing by HP - I hate them on a cellular level.

3rd for Brother. I have the older version of this, bought about 5 years ago. Just coming to the end of it's first toner cartridge which will cost about £25 to replace. Each page is great. No ink splodges, no dried up cartridges. No idea why anyone would use inkjet. Laser is just so much simpler.

4th for Brother.
I have a cheaper model again (mono) and paid £60 from Argos for it at the very start of Covid (bought for home schooling purposes).
Toner is super cheap (c.£12 and lasts a lot of pages)
Currently £85-ish on Argos

I'm another Brother Lover ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
It just works, even when I leave it to not print for months on end. Generic toner cartridges available. I also got the HL-L2350DW mentioned a few times above. Believe that model has now been replaced with the HL-L2400DW now, available online for about £100.

I've also got the HL-L2350DW, had it for years now without issue. Prints from phones, laptops, etc. without hassle.![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

used low end HP laser with unknown history off of fleabay or a brand new Brother for similar or less money with more features ... I know where my money would be going ![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)
Yeah, cant fault that either, and to be fair that makes the ebay ones look over priced. But dont forget even the new Brother only comes with half a cartridge and that a full one is a second £100!![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)
Brother have been making solid buy inexpensive mono laser printers for as long as I've been on this planet and they are very good at it.

Compatibles cheaper still, but at those prices for originals I'd probably stick with them
