Got mine today
So once I got bored of Spotify and asking stupid questions thought I'd have a look at home automation skills
Hmm quite a few omissions
Okay no worries just use IFTTT
except the uk models will not work with it. US models only. So the work round is register it in the US and loose Amazon music and have to tollerate the American accent
So much for it being the be all and end all in home automation!
Google are bringing one out soon let's see if they can raise the ante

You can view the list within the app on your phone and tick them off as you wander round the supermarket.
It's a good feature IMO
Thanks. I guess I could make use out of it, more so if multiple lists can be made ''Waitrose list, town list,' etc. Shame it doesn't seem to be able to search Amazon's store and add things from that though to review later. It's a good feature IMO
I've been doing a bit of Googling. I would like to see if I can integrate an Echo Dot with my LightwaveRF setup, and I've got a pair of HeatMiser thermostats to install over the winter. I understand the US version Echo works with IFTTT but the UK may not initially.
Anyone know anything?

From what I've read. Anyone know anything?
There is no current IFTTT support for uk Echo. Amazon customer service can not confirm when or if it will. If you are happy to re register your device on Amazon.com you can use the American platform. You will however gain an American accent and will loose your prime music.
I also read but can't confirm ( I read it on the net) that light wave will shortly be releasing a skill for echo.
If they don't sort this out then it really becomes a glorified Bluetooth speaker for me

Similarly irksome, I've been trying to get LightwaveRF to trigger with IFTTT tonight but there are no LightwaveRF devices in the drop down selection within IFTTT (I have a few devices listed in the LightwaveRF app and replicated to the LightwaveRF website). It is the same with the IFTTT Android app and on their site through a web browser.
Some forum suggestions are that IFTTT only works with a previous version of the LightwaveRF app, or something. Frustrating however the HeatMiser IFTTT connector seems to work fine, so I'm partway there.
And although I'm only a new user to IFTTT, I can already see why you might want some more Boolean embedded into the recipes. AND, OR and NOT would be brill to combine events and/or triggers.

Google's version of Echo

Which will support IFTTT, Nest, Hue lights... http://www.zdnet.com/article/google-home-will-sell...http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-382...
UK launch probably won't be until next year though, and swap the $ for a £ before the 129.

Does this mean it works with the app? "Alexa, 'bab please".http://www.just-eat.co.uk/blog/win-amazon-echo/?ut...
Successfully linked mine up to the Tado this evening.
"Alexa, turn the heating up" now results in a 1 degree temperature increase.
But... it does this by switching the Tado to manual mode, and it doesn't appear to have a way to switch itself back to auto. I've bodged this by using IFTTT to switch back to auto when Tado enters sleep mode and also if everyone leaves the house, but the link to Tado seems half finished to me.
