Is it the Belkin/Apple charger you are using?
If so, there is a software update later this year that will enable fast charging..

Wireless charging is slower, rather than slow, and I do the same thing. On the pad at night, done in the morning. It also sits on a pad whilst at work. It feels totally mental to use a cable these days as I've gone from Lumia 920 > Lumia 930 > Galaxy S7E > Lumia 920 and so haven't used a cable to charge a phone for 5 years
I am not convinced the battery will last a whole day.... hopefully there will be some decent battery cases available.
I was reading this morning that the X is the most fragile iPhone - and the most expensive to repair. So it definitely needs a case - which is a shame when it's a good looking thing.
The lack of a home button is soon forgotten, I'm only one day in and find the swipes (and FaceID) very intuitive. FaceID is a good feature for me as I would often struggle to get the phone to open on hot days.

Ok so a few car makers are now including wireless charging, but surely this is detrimental to battery longevity with it potentially being on charge all of the time?
Iirc charging isn't bad. Charging to full is what kills a battery. https://www.apple.com/batteries/maximizing-perform...
Care to elaborate?
I thought I'd pitch my review of the iPhone X. I finally managed to get some time with it yesterday at the Apple Store and there's no doubt about it. The phone is gorgeous, but that notch!!! Argghhh!
I actually quite liked FaceID, but still think the phone should have touchID. I find the latter a lot more practical and I looked like a bit of a plonker in store but I tried it out at different angles and it didn't get me every time, whereas touchID would.
The screen is absolutely stunning but after reading reports, I am concerned about the fragility of it, and also the faceID module. There are so many reports (and even a colleague), mentioning a small drop will render the FaceID module useless and the screen is so easily damaged, never mind the glass.
And once again that notch! I tried out watching a movie and it ruins the experience. You have the choice of a letterboxed option where you end up with a viewing space smaller than my iPhone 8 Plus, or you get your notch. I'm not bothered about the rounded corners but the notch is a huge bug-bear.
I also tried out the camera and I would love to have that optical image stabilisation on my zoom lens too. It makes taking photos so much easier. That's a lovely feature, but aside from that, it doesn't add much more to the 8 Plus camera.
Overall it's a stunning phone but it has two major flaws. The absolute fragility of the phone itself and that sodding notch. I feel the X is very experimental so I'll wait until a new generation device is available. For now I'll stick with my 8 Plus which I absolutely love.

I understand the notch might be annoying (for some) but I honestly don’t see an alternative. The technology has to go somewhere so it’s either a notch or a bezel. With the former the side screen real estate can at least be used. In landscape 16:9 fits perfectly as the screen is wider aspect so bezel/notch not an issue.

Cycling between 85 and 25 percent (green) provides a longer service life than charging to 100 percent and discharging to 50 percent (dark blue).
Also elaborates that slower charging is better.
PS: Apple are amongst the bottom three companies I'd trust to tell me about keeping batteries alive

It looks like high temperature is the biggest battery killer. I keep my 6 on a charging pad most of the day to stream radio. In the car (new BMW) it also sits on a charging pad.

Get yourself a case!
Just read that in a drop test the back glass shattered first time. The camera and other hardware is connected to it so the replacement cost is £556 (so realistically your phone is for spare parts then)
Thing is you buy a phone like that for its look and feel not to stick it in a crappy case because if it breaks its scrap. I wonder how long until there is a backlash against stupid costs like that Just read that in a drop test the back glass shattered first time. Apple seem to get away with it for their even more expensive laptops - components glued in when there is no real need for them to be etc.I agree with you on the case. I never use one and it will make Apple Care absolutely essential when I get an iPhone X.
AppleCare+ only covers 2 instances of accidental damage during the period of cover, both of which are subject to £25 screen damage or £79 "other damage". Given reports seem to suggest that a drop can mess up the FaceID cameras, I'd expect most repairs to drift into the £79 range.
Guess ultimately it's a gamble whether you sink £199 up front, with the potential for 1-2 additional payments down the road, or risk it and potentially have to pay £500+ for a out-of-warranty repair.

Could be the Android guys have grown up, there aren't half as many popping in to the Apple threads for a bit of childish sniping as there used to be. https://twitter.com/SamsungMobileUS/status/9272521...

Indeed. It isn't so much of a gamble for me because I got sucked into the Apple Upgrade Programme last year, so i HAVE to buy AppleCare+.Guess ultimately it's a gamble whether you sink £199 up front, with the potential for 1-2 additional payments down the road, or risk it and potentially have to pay £500+ for a out-of-warranty repair.
I have had iPhones since 2008 and I have only had to have a screen repaired once, but it does sound as though the X is more fragile and it definitely costs more to replace.

I agree as a piece of advertising it’s really good and very memorable - much better than the past few where it just seemed like tit for tat https://twitter.com/SamsungMobileUS/status/9272521...
