The point of wireless charging is lost on me - either the phone or the wireless charger needs plugged in so what's the advantage (unless a 2 second saving from putting the phone down rather than sticking a wire into it )?

It's a bit like the facial recognition thing - how is that any easier than unlocking with your thumb scratchchin
I think itll come into its own when whole desks and the like can charge (or like a 3-4m charging 'bubble') rather than just a little pad on a desk.

if you could have something that charged anything with that whole room for example, that would be great.

Hmm - fair enough I suppose... don't think I would want my head in the 'bubble' though if it was on my bedside cabinet! Tinfoil hat time hehe

If you have to fumble around for a charging cable that drops down a bedside cabinet it's quite useful.

I have a charging pad in my car (BMW 440). Just place the phone on it, job done.

It would seem that the first reviews of FaceID are... not overwhelmingly positive.

Will probably be like TouchID. First gen ok, next gen much much better.

iPhone X-2 should be a good bit more refined I reckon.

I'm sure that'll come as a great comfort to those blind-buying the X hehe

Depends what you regard overwhelmingly....

Everything I've read puts it as more reliable than Touch ID.

The Mrs got her 8 today, I really like the reverting back to glass - it feels nice in the hand, much better than the metal of the 6-6s-7

I’m now going to wait till we are in NYC over Christmas and New Year and see about picking up an X then

Really pleased with my iPhone 8 after upgrading from a 6.

Great battery and camera, same internally as the X but cheaper. Only down side is the same old boring design but I still like it so it’s all good. prefer having a fingerprint reader too smile

Got an email from CPW saying my phone will be delivered in store tomorrow. Am I missing something because I thought it was launched from the 3rd?

I might get an X, because I would need an 8+ to get the same features and I don’t really want such a large phone.

I assume it was sent to tell you that it will definitely be ready for you on the 3rd.

My missus has an 8.

She was connected to the Fiesta via bluetooth. My standard sms text message to her wouldn't get delivered until after she had disconnected from the car.

Bizarre. Altogether, she's not having a happy Apple experience!

Check to see if she has "Do Not Disturb while driving" enabled...

Was all set for the 8 Plus, upgrade delivered (but unopened knowing where I was going this week). I then went to a 'special place' on Tuesday and played with the X (I work for a carrier). On my return I got the upgrade cancelled and will get the X - it really is worth that £10/month extra. It's only one coffee per week #ManMaths biggrin
