I meant that the overnight queuing was due to Apple marketing.

As you say strong figures (12% increase in sales) lead to the increased share price.
The forecasts are just shy of a $Billion Revenue a day... bonkers.

I always assumed the wheels would come off their ridiculous growth which has happened over the last ten years but obviously not. Just staggering sales and profitability.

Just went into o2 as there is a MASSIVE sign outside "Get your iPhone X here today"

Asked to update and was told it's pre orders only. Am I being silly?

Phone is £1150 (which i agree is crazy)
So paying £229 per year for the contract.
Currently paying £20/ month for contract which would be £240/ year plus the cost of the phone so final cost would be £1870.
Saving of getting through Virgin is £34 over the 3 years but no lump sum coming out.

Granted this is all only ok if you are happy with a 3 year contract and want the X, as i will not argue that ot isnt a crazy amount but all said it seems a way that suits me and is cheaper than buying outright and going sim only.

Sheet the bed! hehe

Oddly enough, while I’d never consider paying £51 per month for a phone, that isn’t the stand out figure for me.

No, the standout figure is 40GB data per month.

Forty gig of data?!

Seriously, will you actually use that? Or even close to it? That’s a f*cktonne of data man!

My maximum was 97gb apparently when on unlimited! Nowhere near that now but the 8gb plan which i would be worried about is only £3 cheaper so figured £3 to not have to worry. Plus apparently you change change the tarriff up or down each month.

I used 38GB of data last month but 30GB of that was tethering because I moved house and our broadband was delayed in being set up.. always good to have a high limit when you need it!

In what way is that not a scam? iPhone are never available cheaper than retail without a contract.....
Their registered address just up the road from me I’ll go check tomorrow see what there is. I smell something though
Just received notification that the phone has been delivered.

It was brand new and sealed, it was the 8 plus and with a UK plug so exactly as described, a full £150 cheaper than anywhere else.

Yeah, that's a fair point, I forgot about the tethering aspect.

Overnight queuing outside Apple stores and the shares rise this morning.

Here we go, great Apple marketing.
At my local Apple store (Bath Southgate) a lady had set up camp outside at 1:30pm yesterday. I figured people would start queueing in the early morning, but wouldn't have predicted someone queuing outside while the store was actually still open. We're through the looking glass folks.

I've got a Space Grey 256GB one turning up today, but seriously considering selling it on. The phone price is high enough as it is, but the overs on eBay etc are just insane - people paying £1600+

Ordered my 64gb X on the apple website on the 27th at 8.01am. I'm allocated to get mine delivered towards the end of November frown.

[benefit of hindsight]I think ordering it to pick up from a store means you get it quicker?[/benefit of hindsight]

Ordered mine this morning, collect tomorrow at 2pm, or there was a free delivery option.

Work mates just had his delivered.

Looks nice in space grey but almost identical on the back compared to my 7 plus in jet black.

Glad I ordered the silver.

However he refuses to set it up until he gets home. Really interested to see how good/bad the face ID is.

That seems impossible cheap? The quivalent of about a £10 per month contract on top of the phone.

That's how they structure it, its £37 per month for the phone, you then add the sim on which ranges from £5 - £20.

Having looked through the small print the sim contract is for 12 months and the phone contract is for 30 months, the wording is weird though I don't think you actually ever own the phone, that's how it reads to me.

From website

This is from the phone T&Cs

"Swap24: 30-month loan agreement required, unless you pay for your phone in full when you order. Swap12: 24-month loan agreement required. A plan subscription is required throughout the duration of the loan. Sky UK is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (authorisation number 712293). Terms & conditions"

This is the SIM T&Cs

"A 12-month minimum term applies to your Sky Mobile services. "

Edited to Add I think they are using the term loan to mean loan the cost of the phone over 30 mionths so you do get to keep it - I think...
