I ordered a cheap case from eBay, arrived today, don’t like it so I’m still going without a case.

I’ll wait to see what Mont Blanc produce, I can’t see me paying £100 for an Apple case, I thought the £40 for the Apple 6+ case was a lot. I doubt I’ll like the phone in the MB case either but it’ll then match other items so not sure.
Ive has so many iPhone cases that I must have spent a small fortune. I finally decided to spend the £40 for the iPhone leather case (which I thought was a rip off) and over 2 years has passed and the case has worn very well and not fallen apart like the other cases.

I should really do the same with my iPad but the case prices are even more ridiculous but I’m sure the quality is better than the 3 cases I’ve had now.

Well, my Apple 13-20th order is "Preparing for Dispatch" and can no longer be cancelled so the one I bought from CPW is going back to the shop today. Managed not to open it since the launch date, but no one seems interested in buying it. Had someone offer me £1220 on eBay, but when you factor in fees I'd lose more than it cost brand new.

Quite proud of myself managing to resist opening it for this long. biggrin

Bought a Spigen clear case & tempered glass screen protectors from Amazon US (UK Spigen website is on "pre-order") and it turned up in 3 days! Fantastic service.

I have the clear Spigen Armour flex or whatever they call it, and they go yellow after a few weeks.

Still trying to find an decent equivalent but no luck so far.

I understand the notch might be annoying (for some) but I honestly don’t see an alternative. The technology has to go somewhere so it’s either a notch or a bezel. With the former the side screen real estate can at least be used. In landscape 16:9 fits perfectly as the screen is wider aspect so bezel/notch not an issue.
I'd rather have a bezel, then you could have had front facing speakers.

I don't get the fascination for bezel-less design. I still believe it's a usability flaw. My current S7 Edge is bad enough, I have to use it in a case just so I don't touch the sides. Now they want to do away with the bottom and top bezels on modern phones, which makes it even worse. Completely form over function. I seem to be the only one in the world that cares though hehe

No you're totally right, you pick it up with kid gloves because you don't want your phone to accidentally start doing stuff if you handle it properly.

Frustrating.... I think it was you who put me on to CPW and it feels vaguely unfair that I was able to cancel my order and am now using the X from CPW.

I bought the expensive folio case from Apple. It's good quality and the phone shuts and wakes when you close the cover... I will definitely need a battery case at some point.

Re the battery, how long are you getting out of it? I've got the iPhone 7 with battery case and find it invaluable.

Yes, I had the Apple battery case on my 7 too - it was very good.

I haven't run out of battery on the X yet, but I don't think it will last 12 hours - which is my normal day away from home.

The battery actually amazes me with the case. Bit chunky mind you.

12 hours?! Are you on it all day? If not, that is pretty pathetic.

I purchased one of these screen protectors from Amazon the other day and I'm really happy with it -

iPhone X / 10 Screen Protector Anker KARAPAX GlassGuard

It comes with a template you fit to the phone to ensure you get it in exactly the right place which really helps with my OCD...

This combined with the slim fit Spigen case offers some protection without making it bulky. I've been using the X a lot today as I travel and it really is a great bit of kit. My favourite bit of tech up until now has been my iPad mini but I've found myself using the X more and more instead (which is probably why Apple are no longer interested in updating it).

As I mentioned, I haven't run out of battery yet - and yes, I am a heavy user.

I will know on Friday this week when I have a 12 hour day in London.

True but you did say you didn’t think it would 12 hours, and I figured you must have said it for good reason! If it’s 12 hours of none stop use then yeah that would be pretty good!

I'm not an iphone type, being tied into the Android ecosystem with Android Auto, but the animoji karaoke videos that people are putting together with the face recognition is definitely a way of using the tech I don't think Apple might have expected.
