Also - am I right in saying only the Apple watch GPS+ Cell apple watch has saphire screen and stainless body? AND your phone must be EE (or potentially vodafone) for cell to work? My current Apple Watch 1 stainless + saphire screen has proved VERY robust - I can’t believe you have to buy a cell version to get that
For cell functionality to work on the watch your phone needs to be EE (or possibly Vodafone - their name was on the slide) it uses an eSim linked to the same account as your phone sim.You can ignore the cellular function of the watch, if you're on O2 for instance, the gps and phone linked features all still work, I do this now on O2 with a series 3 GPS + 4G model watch.

So is the xs worth £250 for smaller oled, dual camera and 3d touch?
If dual sim launches in the uk properly it is for me. But if not, I’ll just get a 7. Seems reasonable at £450.
Still, that A12 looks like an absolute powerhouse. 6.9 billion transistors @ 7nm is some good going. I remember when it was crazy that graphics cards were packing just 100million!! (Radeon 9700 pro!)

There are some pretty useful blood sugar meters now that link to a smartphone to store the readings; problem is they all need a finger prick blood sample to analyze. I don't see a smart watch being able to measure blood sugar any time soon because I don't think they can get away from that need to have an actual blood sample?
It's 17 years since the first gen Glucowatch became available. A lot of people suffered skin irritations but it stuck around for 10-12 years in total. Right now, best bet is this French company having their product pass certification, coverage starts half-way down the page.https://www.healthline.com/diabetesmine/diabetes-s...
If this tech develops reliably and affordably then I'd consider a smartwatch if this could be integrated into it.
I have my iPhone on Three and was hoping to upgrade my Series 0 Watch to a GPS + Cellular Series 4, but have only just realised that Three can't support it due to no eSIM capability. I'm not changing networks as I like Three and it's good value, but it's a bit of a bummer I'll have to stick with the GPS Series 4 model. Not bothered about dual SIM compatibility with the iPhone as I don't visit prostitutes.

£1449 for a phone
Silly price indeed. But it’s not just a phone is it. I reckon I use it at least ten times more than any other thing on a day to day basis. It does everything these days. Getting a new one every year is silly though.
I'll be upgrading from an iPhone X to the Xs Max, but only because I really miss the bigger screen of my previous 6s Plus. If there were no such thing as the Max, I wouldn't bother with moving up to the Xs from the X.

Pity they haven't done an XR that's about the size of an SE. That would have interested me a whole lot more than any of the new offerings. The XS is now the smallest new iPhone and that's more than I want to pay. Or I go for an 8 but it may have a limited lifespan. Either way I need a new one as I'm still running a 4S with a broken power button and a load of seriously out-of-date apps!
Does anyone know if pricing has been confirmed for the XR?, I’ve currently got a 6S Plus which is now 3 years old, rather battered with a cracked screen, broken camera and a not so great battery life, I was waiting for the new model to come out but don’t know wether to hold on another 6 weeks for the XR or get an 8 as soon as the price drops.

Honestly if your doing a 6S to an 8 why didn’t you do it when the 8 came out? Regardless I’ve an 8+ 256Gb camera is great battery life is exceptional and is a very good upgrade from what you have. No one needs the top end one so pick one of those up in 3 years time
Forgot about today!
I have noticed that in the past 2 weeks or so my 8+ battery has been going flat extremely quickly.
I originally bought my 8+ as I needed to replace my 6+. I didn’t want an X so wanted to wait until this year to see what was coming out but I’m not very impressed so will probably keep the 8+ another year or 2!

Am I right in thinking the Apple Watch 4 is only available in stainless steel when you choose the GPS + CELLULAR version? It seems the regular GPS version doesn't come in stainless at all?
Do you have to set up the cellular connection if you buy that version? I'm perfectly happy on Three.

Welllllll looks like my 7 is staying! Just can’t see any of them appealing to me. Shocking.
This ^^^^^I was actually looking forward to upgrading too, before my current 7 I changed every 18 months without fail. These phones do nothing for me
That’s saved me a grand tho

Dual sim! No more carrying two phones. Sold!
It’s not proper dual sim unless you’re in china though. One physical sim and an Esim. How long will it be until U.K. carriers can do ESim? jjones said:

I’m currently running a cellular unconnected. I’ll move to EE next month and connect it but it works as a normal watch. Do you have to set up the cellular connection if you buy that version? I'm perfectly happy on Three.
