Well, my preorder status is "Delivery Instructed", however beside "Delivery Company" are the words I didn't want to see: Royal Mail.

Estimated release date is 22nd Oct, wonder if I'll see it before the 30th...

I can't seem to log in to the Partner website for MAPS. Has anyone else got problems accessing it?

PLEASE NOTE: If you have pre-ordered a copy of Windows 7 this will not leave our warehouse any earlier than Wednesday 21st October (the day before the official launch date). You should expect delivery to be 5-7 days after this date.
Hopefully they count weekends in that 5-7 days thing... Ho hum.

Just tried it, and is fine for me.

What part are you having problems with? I logged into partner.microsoft.com, went to MAPS, went to download software....

Yeah, they changed to digital downloads, and I pulled the 64 bit off back in August. However a few weeks ago I recieved an envelope with 2 Windows 7 DVDs (Professional and Ultimate) both 32 bit, which is a shame.

I've just bought a new laptop that's running Vista Home Premium. He said when Windows Seven comes out I can upgrade to that free of charge. Is that right?

if you got it in writing, then yes, if you relied on a salesman's good will then u might be disappointed

numpty m8 bought a printer, salesman told him he would need more ink as they were sold half full, he almost believed him smile

Isn't that right though? Cheaper inkjets and lasers come with reduced capacity carts as the printers are being sold at a loss - all the profit is in the replacement cartridges?

This is true, I usually buy cars online from NDink or similar for £1 a cart, I also buy the printer based on availibility of carts.

I thought there was a dvd for 32\64 - seems a bit daft sending 32bit pro\ultimate when all the sku's are available.
