IME iOS software crashes all the time, it just doesn't tell you it's crashed - you just get dumped back to the app drawer. Android at least lets you know whats happened and where Chrome has gone (even though I find crashes in Chrome on Android much less frequent than Safari).
didn't Forbes or similar come to this conclusion when doing a test on both platforms? Android crashes less but it gives you a message when an app crashes?app list as home screen, widgets from the 90s, crashing OS, no ta
have no loyalty to any system though. iphone6 any good and i'll get one.

To be fair, it's not like iOS 7 "ran" on it .
I was just wondering, a lot of people stating "I'm getting one", yet I think there's little know about the form factor. I'm quite sure it won't be a 5.5" behemoth though.
I'm also curious what they'll do with the resolution if they up the screen size. They have been at the bottom end of the market in terms of PPI (screen sharpness) for some time now, if they up the screen size surely they have to up the resolution?

Pretty sure I read that too. Plus when Android plays up you have plenty of options to diagnose the problem and fix it, if iOS plays up, you're fked really. I had a company iPhone that wouldn't sync my music for love nor money - with Android I could take matters into my own hands and transfer everything manually, with iOS, I was shafted. So rather than fix it, I handed the phone back and used my old Xperia S, and I will admit, life got easier. I'm on an Xperia SP for my work phone now, and it is perfect for what I need (not going to stop me trying to get a Z2 though )And did I read someone claim Windows Phone to be modern? You taking the piss?

I agree with this, the WP platform is great, esp in the newer versions. Yet still it feels a bit incomplete to me. Like it still has to mature a bit...On top of that, it's too restricted to my liking I'm afraid.
I'm still on a 3GS and I don't really see the need to upgrade. I'd like to be the choice wasn't so clear as it was when the 3GS was around.
The iPhone hasn't really changed, still just the same downsides despite generations of time to get these issues ironed out. But there is so much competition... the only problem is they all have downsides too
Hmmmm

I'm sure I read the resolution was going to have 50% more pixels in each direction, so the iPhone 5S has 1136x640 and I think the new one is set to be 1704x960 giving a density of 416 PPI @ 4.7".I'm sure I ready they are doing this by upscaling then downscaling again, sounded complicated.

Hmm, upscaling doesn't work that well at only 50%. However, another 100% increase would bring them on par with the competition 's current gen, instead of last gen. That said, HTC and Samsung have now halted at about 430ppi which, IMO is plenty. I'm sure I ready they are doing this by upscaling then downscaling again, sounded complicated.

To be honest, I think even the 326ppi of my 4S is more than enough. Any more is just willy waving.Apparently this is what the new one will look like based on leaks etc.

I wonder how apple will backtrack on the '4inch is perfect - anything bigger can't be used easily' and then claim they invented large phones or something
I personally like the size of my 5 but I may be tempted anyway as my contract expires in September when it's supposedly going to surface.

Odd that the photo just appears to shown iPhone 5S and a bigger iPhone 5S. There will be a redesign this time, as the current design has been in place for two years.http://www.macrumors.com/2014/06/14/photos-of-4-7-...

That's what I said basically, but still there's a difference. If you have the Moto G (budget phone), 5S and Nexus 5 for example next to each other, it's clear to see the 5S and Moto G look... dated somehow?Great on their own but don't really hold up against the competition.

Remember when jobs said that tablets sub 10" should come with sand paper so that people could grind down their fingers to properly use them? He's so blunt at times, you couldn't make the stuff he said up.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFAjfUT8wZI
They'll just ignore what they said. Apple is about the products, try to ignore what they are saying as for people "in the know" it's usually an opportunity to roll your eyes at every occasion.

He said that in reference to tablets running full desktop Windows. That's why Apple designed the iPad from the ground up for use by finger. Try running Windows (through remote desktop) on an iPad and you'll see that he was right.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFAjfUT8wZI
