Well, after deciding I was going to keep my P7 Wireless, they’ve decided they wont charge anymore rage 3 weeks out of their warranty period as well rolleyes

Don’t think I’ll be going for another set of wireless headphones in all honesty. Too much to go wrong and not really delivering the performance to justify the cost.

Its a solid piece of metal, they have already said they would fix it but it will be charged £95.00 for repairs or £160.00 to replace them
What are they worth?

Still think epoxy would do it.

Have you been in touch with them ?
Never know they might show some goodwill.

Anyone got the Sennheiser HD-25 ? Is the Plus version worth it ? Im an amateur home DJ but i like the coiled wire and prefer velour - but the pricing looks expensive when I can pick up the Hd-25 standards (not Hd 25 light) for £90.00 BNIB

Tried again with a different charger/cable and they’ve charged now.

CustomArt FIBAE black. Took advantage of the pre release price and the encouraging reviews. CA have been a pleasure to deal with so far.
Please update the thread once you get them. Interested to know how you get on, and how they compare to other IEMs you may have tried.
shoutOi, shirt!

Did these ever arrive?

So upgraditis kicks in again hehe As said in previous posts, I decided to keep my B&W P7 Wireless instead of chopping them in for some Sony XM3s. I am now very glad I stuck with the B&Ws; on my main rig I’ve been using Beyerdynamic DT990s and have never been entirely happy with those. They’re very clear, but quite bright, thin and soul-less. Not really very engaging to listen to, and to add insult to injury, quite unforgiving of less than optimal recordings, which put me off listening to a lot of music I like.

I’ve been reading reviews of the HD58x Jubilee massdrop, many of which were very promising and they looked like they would solve the issues that the 990 had. So I picked a set up on ebay. They sound meatier than the 990s in the bass and mids, and overall quite the improvement in musicality, but they sound rolled off in the treble, somewhat muffled, and still quite unforgiving of anything not optimally recorded. They are kind of boring to listen to and always underwhelming when first putting them on. Just about better than the 990s on balance but still not for me... I resigned myself to selling up anyway and plumping for an expensive Fostex headset.

So for sts and giggles I decided to plug the cable into my P7Ws and tried it on both my DAC+Amp and also just via the DAC’s headphone jack. Using either combo, it is loads better than either the DT990 or HD58x, but particularly when run just through the DAC’s headphone jack; there is slightly less bass than with the amp, but still LOTS, its tighter, and the mids are much more present. This is definitely an enjoyable, in your face presentation.

They sound noticeably better when using them wired v’s wireless even though the latter was already pretty damn good, and to me they actually sound far more expensive than they are. I’m a recovering headphone addict in the midst of a relapse but they are the best £240 I’ve ever spent on headphones and probably my favourite ever set of cans. They sound incredibly lively and fun to listen to, clear, good imaging, nice mids, fantastic rich bass. Even after listening to my speakers, they did not sound lacking, which is normally the case when I go from my speakers to headphones; in fact I ended up re-listening to a lot of my music collection! They even make fairly poor recordings sound pretty damn enjoyable which is most welcome. I was not expecting them to sound that good, let alone when I’ve already owned them for about a year anyway, but suffice to say the other two pairs are now for sale, and I no longer feel that much of a desire to fork out another £400+ on a pair of Fostex!

If you don’t need ANC, but would like a closed back set to use for occasional travelling, around the house with any device, but one that will come alive when fed a quality signal, then I would say you could do a hell of a lot worse than the P7 Wireless especially if you enjoy an upfront, lively sound with rich bass. They also do a wired version but I’ve read that some people still prefer the sound signature of the Wireless model; additionally I’ve read many times in many places their sound quality exceeds that of the PX model that replaced it. I’m almost tempted to buy another pair in case anything happens to these!

Anyone got the new Bose 700? Fancy a pair but the reviews complain a lot about software issues.

Mainly to be used on planes and so for the ANC it is these or the Sony WH-1000XM3....price not really an issue and prefer the new Bose look tbh.

Any first hand PH experiences?

Well that’s another set of Taotronic Bluetooth headphones that have bit the dust at the gym. The question is do I buy another set the same or go back to wired headphones. I’ve tried all sorts for the gym, the Taotronic ones were the best for the price while they lasted!

Given the choice between the 700s and the qc35ii I would buy the older version, purely based on the fact the 700 do not fold very well.

I finally took the plunge and ordered the Sony WH1000-XM3 at the weekend as they were down to under £250 on Amazon. They should arrive later so I’m keen to try them out

Time to bump an old thread. Looking for some noice cancelling headphones but can’t justify the cost of the QC35s or the equivalent Sony ones.

Any suggestions for around £50 for the occasional long haul flight?

Thanks. I had a older pair of the TaoTronics like yours but left them on a flight last year.

The Soundcores look good, I have some generic bluetooth in ears ones by them which are decent for the money. Seems TaoTronics do an equivalent so it’s a toss up between the two

Are we talking audiophile stuff or..?

I am intrigued by these, just don’t know where to try them and see for myself . I wish Sony did some all black versions because I don’t like the copper accents.

Out of 10,
How would you rate the following?

Sound
Comfort
Features
Value

I posted back in August about getting a set on preorder of XM4s

The sound was great, very balanced and I wouldn’t put them in the audiophile category.

They are very good though and the ANC and pass through features are very good. They are also very comfortable.

Value however is where I came unstuck. I had 3 pairs in the end, the first pair kept stuttering on music and podcasts and it got so frequent to be losing probably 0.2secs of sound every 2-3seconds.

The second pair wouldn’t keep a connection with my Mac or iPhone and stuttered as well (although not as bad)

The third pair (bought a couple of weeks later from a different retailer thinking JL may have had a dodgy batch) were the same as the first.

For the price paid, these seemed completely unacceptable issues and I have given up with them. Software updates to all devices involved didn’t resolve. It’s quite common as well from the Reddit threads too.

Shame really. I have reverted to my airpods until the anticipated studio variant are released (hopefully soon).

I too have been using a freebie pair of AirPods since I have had a run of rotten luck (my B&W PX’s broke due to poor design 2 days out of warranty) and a free pair of Beats Studio3’s my son got with his Mac had it’s hinge break (mediocre headphones anyway)

There’s nothing on the headphone market that’s really making me want to buy them. I oohed and aahed on the B&W PX7’s but gut instinct says wait for the next model. I simply don’t believe the audio hype on the WH-1000XM4 (although I do believe they are very good, I am looking for something premium, Bluetooth and comfy to sonically blow my ears apart between the £200-400 price range). I think more of the hype is on the XM4 for features and VFM. I don’t care much for features, just want a mind blowing audio experience, next level comfort and premium build, excellent battery life etc. The B&W PX really were a fantastic pair of headphones, except that they were heavy (a trade off I will accept), the PX7 look fantastic though.

I saw the new B&O anniversary headphones are apparently next level, but at £700....... mmm, I’ll pass.

I too might wait for the AirPods Studio........ I dont have my hopes high, but maybe Apple might pull something out of their hat. They’ve been on a roll lately (apart from the iPhone 12 being rumoured to still have the same silly notch and no 120Hz)
