maps are sending win7 out on DVD's - have to get keys of website tho'
only 32bit version though, and I received mine weeks ago
I thought they canned DVDs? That's why I cancelled mine in a hissy fit irked
Yeah, they changed to digital downloads, and I pulled the 64 bit off back in August. However a few weeks ago I recieved an envelope with 2 Windows 7 DVDs (Professional and Ultimate) both 32 bit, which is a shame.
My SSD arrived on Thursday, went to the action pack to pull the DVD and had to kick the table when I saw it was only the 32bit version. 4 hours to download the 64bit :-(

Mine have arrived also. They will work if I install them right?

Mine's just arrived!

Can I install this right over the top of the RC or will I have to re-format and full install?

They don't want you to, but you can - depending on the edition you're installing, as the RC is essentially Ultimate.

I used this little tweak on my MAPS download ISO a while back and it worked fine. I've only tried it with Ultimate though...

Ah, I'll be installing Home Premium over the RC, so perhaps not.

Thanks for the link. Interesting reading.

I used a quick fix from the internet this Sunday to upgrade straight from my Windows 7 RC to the retail version. It meant I didn't have to do a clean install and so I kept all my settings, applications and themes. Saved me many hours!! biggrin

You of course mean the upgrade copy and not the full install version ?

bit annoyed that they selling the full install version for a bit less than I paid for it and still waiting for the wkers at RM to deliver it

Went through the whole Fresh Install of W7 last weekend, including a tediously slow total backup, Windows Easy Transfer and various settings exports. Then I find that a fresh install just moves all your old Windows stuff into a folder called Windows.old, which instantly takes up most of your hard drive (if you're on a laptop like me). So now I have to delete it to free up some space.

Still, W7 starts/stops quickly, holds wireless signal better (for some reason), runs quieter and faster. Must resist putting junk back onto it which would slow it down. Basics only from now on.

No.

I paid £45 for the full install Home Professional copy during an offer a few months ago...came with 32 and 64 bits DVDs. Used it to up(down)grade from the Windows 7 Ultimate RC to Windows 7 Home Premium Retail.

It required me changing the registry etc...to get them compatible, but saved me many hours of reinstalling applications, settings, themes etc...and cant complain having a legal copy for £45!

Also I havn't noticed anything missing on the Home edition compared to the Ultimate that I would use either biggrin
