Thanks chaps. Really like the idea of the 90 degree torch as I have a clip on a backpack strap that it can go into.
Winner!
Google around I have no experience with that particular model. There might be alternatives. There are a few right angles torches. Having said that you can't go wrong with Fenix
I'm a big fan of zebralight myself, I've got three now. rolleyes
I use one of these for a head torch, and it has a rear clip also.
Single AA, multiple modes, and a great U.I.

I usually buy direct, but you can get them from flashaholics if you prefer U.K.

Cheers, so there is no adjustment for the beam then?

I've just picked up a TM16 from gearbest's euro warehouse - bizarrely it's a chunk cheaper than from China. I wanted a very bright torch for night sailing.

Anyway for £76 delivered (it arrived in two days) it's possibly the best all rounder I've ever used. IPX8 water-proof, 700m range, yet amazing flood. 4000 lumens of instant sunshine. The only downside is that it's a chunky little fella.

I'm tempted by this. Is there any adjustment with the flood to throw beam? Any pics of the performance?

Plenty of youtube vids.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72PHypff8jw Beam shots at the end of the vid.

Re batteries for the other poster. I ordered some nitecore batteries from china (gearbest again) as they're supposed very good.

UK I would use Torchythebatteryboy on Ebay as he sells panasonic / sony / cells rebranded.

Sorry, missed that question. You have 4 or 5 brightness settings, plus strobe and sos. There is no focusing though. Tbh I don't think it needs one. It uses a custom reflector which offers good flood and throw.

Real shame that, I'd love something that size which was focusable......I don't need one, I just WANT ONE!

Watching that German video it looked Ias if it didn't have one beam but several all slightly spread. Is yours like that?

I've ordered one anyway. The beam doesn't look too focused with that amount of power it shouldn't matter. I'm sure I'll be able to find my dag and scan for other dags 1 km away exaggeration of course smile

I only have one problem with it but the tk75 has the same issue. My tk51 has for me the best thing ever on the controls

Turn it in set your level you want to check something in the distance press's and hold the power button and you get turbo for as long as you want. Release and it goes back to how it was before.

I hate scrolling through the levels to get back to where I was. I usually miss it and have to keep going and I'm never sure if I'm on what I was before.

Damn it I'm talking about ui on frigging torches fml

Know what he means. Despite currently hanging my nose over a Fenix PD35 Tactical it didn't stop my 12.99 punt in Lidl on their 10W Cree torch. Runs off 3 Duracell C batteries included.

Took it out on last night's dog walk alongside the automatic goto Lenser T7.2 and it held up well. Beam control on spot focus isn't quite as good, but it's a bigger LED in size so that's expected. It throws quite well right to the other side of the field, and on flood not much to choose between it and the Lenser.

Still going to have the Fenix...
I've just bought one too. I have one of the older Lidl Cree 2W torches. This new one is noticibly brighter but does not focus down to such a tight beam. So for very long distance work the old one is a better illuminator. However for upto say 50m where you don't need to focus down so tight the new one is brighter. It is also slimmer than the old one that uses 4 AA batteries.

It has four LEDs collimated into a single beam.

Just been out with the dogs tonight and it really is a very impressive torch. I would debate the 700m range but then it was slightly misty, but I was picking out deer at 450-500m - I paced out the distance. I also did a little experiment driving back down the forest track. Switching between main beam and lights off, and the torch on max setting, the torch illuminated the track ahead far better than the car.

For £76 it really is a bargain.

I'm waiting on this arriving:
http://www.gearbest.com/led-flashlights/pp_241907....

I was in the market for a Zebralight H600 MkII, and saw this on a very good discount through BLF. I've got a couple of other Nitecore lights and I've bee impressed, so it was too much to resist.

One thing I would hasten to add though is that the Zebralight/Fenix/Nitecore/Eagletac 800-1000 lumen lights posted so far are massive overkill for someone just walking. I've gone off Alpkit headtorches as the ones I've had don't like Eneloop batteries, but something cheaper and around 150 lumens would be perfectly reasonable for walking through a dark park. Even a Nitecore HA20 would be overkill (300 lumens), whilst able to run off AA's for convenience.

Not that I'm knocking overkill.

Oh, and the clippy-backpacky torch idea? Been done. Nathan Fire 100 or 300.
No idea how good they are mind.

I'd agree that massively bright head torches are an overkill for such as dog walking, unless you can set the default setting well throttled back.

However it's useful imo, at least where I walk, to have a hand torch running at a lowish setting, but instantly possible with a tail button to fire it at full power with one press, basically to pick something out or in worst case dazzle someone.

I felt obligated to visit the local Lidl and pick up one. Seems a nice addition to the quiver of torches and I don't have another C battery torch.

£12.99. Plus the set of drills, dog lead, windscreen scraper, magnifying thing cheese and drink and it came to 37.99. Bugger it. Man maths in action.

Damn this thread, it's got me wasting half my day looking for something which I don't even think exists! I'm after a focusable torch (i.e. one that I can change from flood to throw easily) but that has multiple leds and batteries? Preferably 18650s as I have loads smile

Anyone know of any?

No. Not sure why you would want such a thing just the a thrower that has lots of spill.

Led lenser had the only decent system, have you looked at their stuff?

They have them just not with 18650s

Strange they don't offer them. Seem to be happy to be left behind.
