Pre-order starting October 27th lol
There are people outside of the Apple shops in America right now hoping to grab one next week I’m sure. Bet they will be happy rofl

Nothing even slightly interesting on the 10 though. Even the 8 hasn’t really done much.

Wireless charging seems nice but nothing to pay hundreds of pounds for

I think I'll wait for the iPhone 11.

let me guess, apple will have found it necessary to reinvent wireless charging in such a way as to be different to all the standards already out there, no cross compatibility with anyone else's pads, so we still can't expect wireless charging pads built into tables in restaurants or the office furniture because there's still too many standards?
I was under the impression that the Qi standard that these devices adhere to is cross compatible.

Apple really is in risk of being a victim of it's own success and squeezing the juice so much from one product that there is no more juice to give.

They've got to start thinking about actual problems in the world - the Internet of Things. Not just recycling the same damn phone over and over and forever increasing the price for features no one really wants. It's very expensive gimmicks.

Very disappointed with the worlds richest coompany

well if that is the future of smart phones for the next ten years as Tim claimed, I'm underwhelmed.

no playout band any more?

OK that's cool, I missed him saying that.

Well that was a bust.

Couldn't decide which was more embarrassing, saying "this is the future" over and over in the hope that somehow that would make it so, or the fact that even the Whooping for the "X" was half hearted.

Is there a backup to the facial recognition unlock? Or is it just that? On my S8 I can use the facial thing, or the pin/pattern, assume the iPhone is the same?

Otherwise, you can't use it when its too bright/too dark, wearing sunglasses, and all manor of situations.

If anyone came late to this chat I'll just sum it up for you.

Just buy one of these for a little over £4 and stick with what you have.

'Upgrading' will cost you hundreds more to get rid of that little white cable. Oh - and you're gonna need yet more Apple accessories to get it all working properly.

We've an iphone5S 32Gb on its last legs and a 2 year old iphone6Splus 128Gb this one is still like new.

So given we need to upgrade (screen faulty on the iphone5S (lines on it) plus battery life is poor which should we upgrade to?(will be keeping the 6S plus for a further 2 years).

I definitely prefer the 8 to the 10. The ten seems more of a faff in nearly every way.

It looks like you still have a code option so I'm guessing you hit a button on the right and your traditional word/number code option appears.

Personally I think it's a game changer, who else has face recognition for example?

Buy a discounted iPhone 7. Seriously.

You're getting virtually the same phone but for over £1000 you no longer have to plug a cable in (which you'll still have to do with the new one since no one has charging pads). Oh...an the pixels go out to the edge a bit more. That's honestly it.

Is it worth jumping from a iPhone 5S 32Gb to an iphone8 plus? I'm guessing that would be a significant upgrade (though phone is used mere for calls whatsapp Facebook photos videos recording of Internet. Apps hardly use any really)

Even a 5s to 6s would be good enough. No an 8 isn’t remotely necessary thinking about it.

Solid advice - the marginal benefits offered for a high £ extra are getting pretty pointless

Instead of using iface to unlock your phone and make poo emojis smile. It should be making creepy realistic clones of your face for messages.
