Just got a stock alert for this if anyone's interested, Gigabyte 3080, 2 in stock:
https://www.box.co.uk/GV-N3080GAMING-OC-10GD-Gigab...
I must have signed up for the alert around 3080 launch day. No interest to me now I have a 3070 and don't run in 4K.
Overpriced, they aren't keeping up with the dropping Ebay prices for new GPUs - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/164908466351?epid=19040...https://www.box.co.uk/GV-N3080GAMING-OC-10GD-Gigab...

I wouldn't even pay that, not when the RRP was supposed to be far lower. I simply can't afford to be paying well over a grand just for a graphics card even if I wanted to. Wasn't long ago you could build a whole gaming PC for that sort of money, including a high end GPU. Just thought it might be an option for someone.3080 GPUs from £1299. - https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_n...

I'm not upgrading to a 4k monitor and 3080/3080Ti until they're back down to 'normal' levels - which may mean when the 4080 comes out
It's worth using that Telegram chat that was shared 2 pages back. That's how I got the 3090 just now and I could have got a 3070Ti last Friday (but didn't as I needed at least a 3080 for the VR stuff I've got so had basically said I'd take a 3080, 3080Ti or 3090). They're coming up on there about every 4-5 days usually between 9 and 10am and as long as you're able to check immediately, it's not impossible to get the cards by any means and they're all at the rrp (so £649 for a 3080, £1099 for a 3080 Ti and £1399 for the 3090) which is basically about 50% of the cost that you see most companies selling partner cards at.Narcisus said:

I'll be waiting for the next gen of cards now. Probably drop in a later CPU to replace my 3700x at the same time. Hopefully 4080 at RRP !
You'll be waiting at least a year if not more.RacerMike said:

If this generation completely dominated 4k and VR without any question whatsoever then I'd go for it, but it still seems like it's not quite there. And that's before all this scalping and supply stuff.
The 3080 and friends seems to not far off double the 1080ti in many games, but the old stager is more than tolerable as is apart from a few.

Ditto. As I'm only on 1440p there is no immediate desire to upgrade. I would only look to going for a 3080 and above anyway (would look to upgrade to a 4K monitor as well). A lot of man maths occurred in the space of 2mins. Needless to say I've got an RTX 2060 Super for sale as of Monday!

How much? Recommendation generally is to try FB marketplace so might give that a go

Quite possible. EBay atm isn’t nightmare apparently though. Lots of people selling cards and then getting claims back that it hasn’t arrived.

Absolutely agree with this, although FB marketplace is full of fkwits, I sold my 2070S this way. I priced it below the going rate, ignored the idiots and sold it to a really nice lady buying it with her teenage son. I showed them the card working in my PC, they then did an instant bank transfer and both of us were happy. Saved the worry of being scammed on eBay. 2) Don't buy a too cheap RTX card on Ebay, it's a scam and won't arrive. There have been quite a few GPUs offered at well below average selling price, they appear in searches but when you click on them Ebay cannot find it. So they are doing something about them by removing them.
Example here of a low "buy it now" priced 3080 scam advert.

He'll just resell it at a higher price.
Actually, I wouldn't. I've never resold a second hand, only back on from retailers (and if I can re-sell a CCL priced card..).I would mine with it though. I've got a spare slot on my motherboard so looking to fill it.
