On Jellybean, I had many 'stared' contacts which I could jab and quickly call. I now have only 3, which is what I don't like.

So then I have to go to the menu bottom right, select all contacts and then search for the contacts.

How do I get all of my quick dials back??

What doesn't work about it, I've got it on mine and it still appears to be backing up my messages?

it wouldn't restore any messages at all. around 8200 messaged stored, went through the whole process of trying to restore each message one by one, but claimed they were all duplicates and didn't restore any of them

if i wanted to refer back to a message they are saved on my google account so im not hugely fussed, just would have liked to be able to pick up where i left off

Mine updated a short while ago and feels snappier. I can also see what the issue with the tiny lag with exciting apps is, but it's a really minor issue tbh.

For the lag issue it seems better if you change all animation in developer mode to x1.5 ART helps too.

I was reading about it earlier, there looks like there a new beta version now which works properly.

Sounds like you are making it hard work for yourself. From top to bottom of the screen there is a search box which searches all contacts without having to mess about with menus. Then there is your most recent call, followed by your three "top" contacts. Below that are your starred contacts plus any other frequently contacted numbers, which is a simple scroll and jab affair.

Here's a daft question! How do you get a simple web page shortcut icon onto a home page? Just can't fathom it!

eta - Chrome ideally, but also for the default browser.

Add the page to your bookmarks, then go to your bookmarks, hold down on the one you want, then select Add to home screen.

Or hold down on home screen selects widgets then bookmarks.

Thanks but it doesn't work. I have a load in Bookmarks, when selecting the left hand of three icons at the bottom of the Bookmarks screen (6 little black squares button), but don't get the option when I hold down on the icon.

I'm getting there slowly.

Frustratingly the bookmarks I have link to the mobile sites so having to faff about getting the Desktop site bookmarks shortcutted.

Go to the star tab at the bottom, then you'll get the option when you hold down on your bookmarks.

Crikey. Just had to set an alarm and now instead of the digital clock and just typing the digits in for the desired time you now use gestures on a clock face. Needlessly complicating something.

I thought the same at first. But now I've used it for a few weeks, I actually find I much prefer it to the old way of setting an alarm...although I'm not sure why exactly.
