Let me know if there are any more details you would like to know!

To be honest I've had pretty much the same experience as most reviewers seem to have had, so there isn't anything new that I've mentioned.

As luck would have it, my temporary phone is now dead after my Nokia was sold a few days ago. So...

...I'm currently in Watford Carphone Warehouse in the queue (of 3 people, I'm the 3rd) and I've now been here for 20 minutes. How long does it take to serve someone? There's 4 advisors who a been with their customers for an age. It's taking the piss now...

As sad as this is now my third post in a row, what case would be recommended? I want something uber soft that doesn't scratch the front or the back.

I bought one of these for 99p last week, fits well, but the 'button's' could be better designed.

Battery on this thing blows goats. Utterly atrocious even by the standards of smart phones

Most reviews are stating it's fine. How bad is bad Tre?

Standby and screen on time would be helpful. My Galaxy Nexus wasn't great, that thing would get through the day with about 2-2.5 hours screen on time, and about 16 hours screen off / standby.

You can check this in the Battery stats in your settings.

I have heard some say its worse than the HTC One X which was one of the most battery unfriendly smartphones available, so you could be right.

How do I do those screenshots?

It was down to 65% after 37 minutes of Spotify (local music, not streaming)....frankly, that's a drain the National Grid would struggle to keep up with.

After 8 hours it was showing 18% use of screen and Spotify and 9% phone standby despite me expecting the standby (as in, I was not using the phone at all, save for it being on) for 4 of those 8 hours.

I may have a Friday special, or I does the battery need to "acclimatise"?

ETA...I can't help but cynically ponder if press got beefier batteries than production versions because like you guys I'd read the battery to be good (better than the One X plus) but reality isn't turning out like that...

My Nexus 10 took a few full charge/discharge cycles before the battery started giving a decent life. Hopefully your Nexus 4 will improve. If it doesn't then I'll have to find a different object of desire. :-(

Cheers for that, it's reassuring...I'm never sure on these things, is a full discharge (oo-er) a good thing or a bad thing?!?

A Google search should reveal how to screenshot (I can't help as I don't have one).

You could have a rogue app. Try the app CPU spy to see if it is. But it could just be crap. My Galaxy nexus would get me through a day of moderate use. Can yours?

Cheers, I'll have a look.
A day? I really would class my usage today as "very little", certainly vastly less than the Desire I had, and it pretty much died at half seven having come off charge at 11.
Seriously, I doubt it would make from 8 to 8 with me not using it for anything at all.
I'll cycle it on the battery more...

I have not had a chance to really try my nexus 4, but my previous nexus running jelly bean also had really poor battery life until I disabled Google now and related location tracking features. I am expecting to have to do the same with my N4 when i get round to switching phones.

I had a look at one of these in Carphone Warehouse. Didn't like the look or feel of it and neither did the staff. Really lacks the visual appeal of many other phones.

Surprised you say that, the screen is leagues ahead of others in terms of feel and use. Looks wise.... I'd not be able to tell the diff between any of the phones especially with a protection thingy.

I'll try disabling Google now etc, thanks
