Current package m200, mix tx and phone (not used). I took the package out on £57 which they increased to £69!
Call 1 - offered £58 but cut off.
Call 2 - offered £70 and then £67 and then £58. I've given notice to cancel to see what happens.
What sort of prices have people been getting? Was £58 any good?
My post is a couple of pages back in December - after instructing the cancellation and waiting for the call - I also mentioned on the call that FTTP connections were newly available in the area. At least that's how I remember it - it's been a few weeks I'd say £58 is rich if you have the same TV package. Call 1 - offered £58 but cut off.

> £36pcm(from £37) for M500 (from M350), Mixit, Phone with w/e chatter.
Looking at my bill - it looks like the package is £84pcm with me receiving 3 lots of discounts totalling £48.
It's probably my last time doing the dance - I was too busy with work this time round to risk changing providers.

39 is a decent enough improvement over 58.

When my contract period is getting towards the end, i’ll get a cityfibre install in a couple of weeks beforehand, to ensure is well before the Virgin one dies. It's probably my last time doing the dance - I was too busy with work this time round to risk changing providers.
Happy with the Virgin service but not the ‘in contract’ increases
Currently paying £24 for m200 broadband only, contract expired yesterday and new cost is £54.
They’ve just offered me the same deal for £27, I’ve refused citing Vofaphone are doing full fibre for 500M for £25 currently on my road.
Will see if/when the phone calls start next few weeks.

I get the impression that they're more focused on retentions than ever before, now that they have greater competition. They’ve just offered me the same deal for £27, I’ve refused citing Vofaphone are doing full fibre for 500M for £25 currently on my road.

Virgin & Vodafone wlll increase it by inflation + 3.9% in April though? They’ve just offered me the same deal for £27, I’ve refused citing Vofaphone are doing full fibre for 500M for £25 currently on my road.

Any others available?
Eg Toob over City Fibre available here (same fibre as Vodafone etc etc) 900mbps, £25 a month, no in contract price hikes.
That catch is a real turn off now.

Martin Lewis was talking prices rises of inflation +x amount on his show last night, they take December inflation figure so will be approx 8% on the bill
Virgin take the January RPI number which comes out mid-February. But yes, approx 8% looks to Virgin price rises this AprilComing to the end of 18 months on "Bigger Bundle + Sports", with Sky Sports HD pack with Tivo V6 and M200....have been paying £84.50 (originally £73) a month, due to go up to £138.50 at the end of the month.
I've just called to give my 30 days notice and she offered me £81 straight off the bat, which wasn't too bad to be honest. However, I'd like to trim that down a little AND increase my broadband speed if possible.....500 would be nice, but i'll take 250. Furthermore, I'd like a new TIVO box as the current one doesn't always turn on from cold anymore.
Am I right in thinking I'll still get a call back from the retentions team? The scottish woman I just spoke to seemed adamant that she was the last person from Virgin I will speak too.....that's certainly not been the case for the previous 8 years....also any thoughts on what price to be aiming for? (New Customers would pay £75 for what I am looking for, but that would include an 02 SIM pack).

I got the full TV package, Sky Sports and Movies, all HD and Ultra where applicable, 2 boxes, 500 Internet (lost TNT Sport, which I had previously but I never watched), lost the O2 sim (which I never used previously) for £60 pm for a new 18m contract on New Year's Eve, my contract was up in March.I've just called to give my 30 days notice and she offered me £81 straight off the bat, which wasn't too bad to be honest. I thought I'd see what I could get on the last day of the year for an early renewal, this was all done via WhatsApp.

Coming off 18M contract M125 BB only paying £18 PM
Wanting £39 a month.
Done the dance best I could manage today was £27.
Not sure if I should be happy with that.
Gut feeling is maybe I should have gone 30 days notice but don't really want the hassle of a possible break in service.
I wouldn't be, I;m paying £30 a month for telephone, tv package and M50 BB which they upgraded off their own bat to M125 BBWanting £39 a month.

Was paying a discounted £37 a month for basic telly, weekend calls and M125 broadband. That came to an end and went up to a sort of discounted £57 a month.
I went on the online chat bot and a guy called Erjohn came on and immediately offered £33 a month for 18 months. I upped the broadband to M250 for £36 a month for 18 months.
No sweat. Done in half an hour online.

I still don't understand how these increases are a thing, if I sign up to a 2 year gas and electric contract, the gas and electric tariff doesn't rise in line with RPI and CPI, I know it's spelt out in the contract but I just don't understand why it is allowed.
"Ofcom proposes ban on inflation-linked mid-contract price rises"https://www.ofcom.org.uk/news-centre/2023/ban-on-i...
Interesting chart in that article showing Virgin (O2) being the ones favouring RPI+ over CPI+.
