I honestly now find Three the best for customer service.
I found Three to be far and away the worst of the providers.I decided to go to the ombudsman this morning, and they have given me a reference number and suggested that if it was referred to them, they would highly likely rule in my favour. Evidently a verbal confirmation is something that from a consumer perspective is considered "good enough"
It's only a circa £50 fix, but the principal of the matter is worse!
So, IF this senior manager calls me back, maybe the case from the ombudsman (including my reference number) will be enough to sway them into action.

The main problem with any customer service enquiry is if the answer you need is not covered by their 'script ' you are stuffed .The call centre operative is not permitted to go off script or think for themselves.
I am lucky as any problems that I have had have been resolved after a polite e-mail to the CEO.
