Buy a Mac G5 with optimised air cooling and windows on it
Buying a Mac and then running windows is like buying a beautiful Porsche GT3, then ripping out the engine and putting one in from a Trabant!!!! NNooooooooOOOooo - such wrongness. banghead

Even the promises in Windows Vista fail to live up to Mac OS/X of five years ago, and the chances of another Microsoft Spambotfest/Spywarehost debacle are very real.

Lets face it, by any technical yardstick Windows sucks shoot. Linux and Mac OS/X (really BSD Unix underneath) are proper operating systems, designed on technology that formed the internet before Microsoft had even put a TCP/IP stack into windows and could run full security multiuser code before DOS had even got a MOVE command that worked. BEOS would probably be running in most of your houses now, very very fast, oriented toward games and multimedia, secure, brilliant OS. Killed by Microsoft.

No idea how you could make a shuttle noisy - mine is an older version of the Sk21G with an AMD sempron, build in video (AGP slot is there but not used by me) and very quiet. Gets used as a Linux server - linux is pretty efficient so it doesn't get taxed very much most of the time, there is a 4-stage fane/speed temperature scale that you can tweak in the bios. Perhaps if you used one as a games machine the GPU would not fit into the cooling scheme, but I use consoles for games, Macs for all work, and Linux for a reliable server (current uptime is 402 days without a hitch beer).

Never thought of it that way - it's strictly functional rather than "pimp" for the sake of it biglaugh.
