reckon it would be good on LLU at max speed, but on a standard 6 mb ? adsl speed, guess it might judder a bit ?

When I had 0.5Mbit it stalled now and then. Looking at the network usage, I would estimate the connection uses 0.75-1Mb. On 6Mb you can't tell it is there.

Can someone with the software installed tell me how this works? I'm assuming that the program hangs around and uses your bandwidth to transfer stuff in the background?

Out of interest how do you pay for the content you're watching? Is it Ad supported or subscription based? As I'm guessing it's like the Sky download service?

It is a peer to peer live streaming service. Like a hybrid of YouTube and BitTorrent. The mother Joost site streams the original video, any site that receives it then passes the data block on to other peers, relieving the load on the mother site.

I haven't seen any adverts at all so far other than those in the programme intros.
