It's just been on the BBC TV News who used it as just another excuse to bash Apple.

Actually it's the users that got caught out who are to blame, as they should know by now not to trust the iPhone alarm.
Well I never had any problems previously?

Mine worked at 0815 and 0830 this morning.
Yes, I was referring to "CobolMan": "just another excuse to bash Apple".
If Steve Jobs sells a new cable to transport video over and calls it iHDMI, going for £200/m, it's all over the news as well, you can't have one's cake and eat it too...
iHDMI, now that has a nice ring to it, anyone got Steve's number or e-mail address?

When it comes to alarms I always set two independent ones, on my watch and on my Samsung mobile. However, that alarm doesn't always work and I often find that I get broken text messages which, to me, is hell of a bigger flaw than an alarm not going off on two days. Does that make the news?

Whilst the iPhone looks very nice, I just cannot justify spending £xxx on one - the hype around the iPhone has been blown out of all proportion for what is, at the end of the day, a mobile phone.

I would be interested to know exactly what caused the alarm failure though, there must be some very odd coding in it to have caused it.

Quite.

Not very handy when you travel though smile
Very helpful handy hint

Do all TVR and Alfa owners have to book taxis as a back up too? Or those who rely on electric ovens have a gas camping stove back up?

I've relied on phone alarms for many years. This is maybe the second or third time it's failed.

And to be honest, I thought it was me. It wasn't until my son mentioned his hadn't gone off that I questioned it. I merely thought I'd turned it off, or incorrectly set it. I woke 20 mins after I should (natural body clock etc). I wasn't late for work.

People are late every day because of one thing or another. Life goes on.

Unless of course there's some great conspiracy behind it & Apple want to halt the world?
