I went from 6P to OnePlus 3T and it's been great so far. Have you considered the OnePlus 5?
I'm a tech we so also have my eye on the Essential phone and what it will launch for when it hits these shores...
The major downside for me is the fact the Nexus is on 8.0 now and One Plus 5 is still on 7.0 or 7.1?I'm a tech we so also have my eye on the Essential phone and what it will launch for when it hits these shores...
Far to used to quick updates.

The appeal of the X for me is effortless cross-device integration. I know I can get the same thing from various other apps but it's just that much more straightforward using all Apple.
Also, if the V30, Note 8 and Pixel 2 are all around £850 then I don't see an extra £150 on top as being all that big a deal. They're all enormously expensive, if I can afford one of the Android phones I can probably afford the iPhone.
Agreed, except the LG will be around the £750 mark and the Note 8 will probably be there soon as well. Also, if the V30, Note 8 and Pixel 2 are all around £850 then I don't see an extra £150 on top as being all that big a deal. It's a huge price difference relatively anyway, we're talking over 30% more expensive here.

8.0 for the OnePlus 3/3T/5 is in final beta stages apparently and due 'soon'. To be fair to OnePlus, they're one of the few manufacturers (ie. non-Nexus/Pixel) to issue relatively timely security patches (mine's on 7.1.1 and the August security patch).
It looks like other 'flagship' phones from last year such as the S7/S7 Edge is still on 7.0 and - it would be logical to assume - an older security update. in fact, have Samsung said they'll be rolling out 8.0 to the S7/S7E for example?

Not sure really as I'm part of the BETA testing team I have had 8.0 BETA for ages and got the stable 8.0 within an hour of the release.8.0 for the OnePlus 3/3T/5 is in final beta stages apparently and due 'soon'. The pricing on the V30 in the UK has been released, £800 and it’s a Carphone Warehouse exclusive.

Too high for me. I know it's well-featured but I can't stomach £800 on any phone. LGs tend to drop price fairly quickly so I might wait it out for a few months. The pricing on the V30 in the UK has been released, £800 and it’s a Carphone Warehouse exclusive.
I'm not sure I'm a fan yet of the design itself, despite being a major Nexus fan!
If moving to Samsung or another android, will it work the same in the sense of logging into Google and everything will just load up - including current launcher / icons / contacts / apps etc?
I'm not sure I want to lose that all if I have to start from scratch!

Assuming your contacts etc. are stored in the cloud, switching between Android phones is a doddle. You'll get pretty much all the stuff you had, but you'll likely have to set up your home screens again as that's one thing that varies quite a bit between phones. If moving to Samsung or another android, will it work the same in the sense of logging into Google and everything will just load up - including current launcher / icons / contacts / apps etc?
