My set-up - boring compared to most!
Ebay used Oak Desk. I like it, solid bespoke made. Cost me £150
Portrait monitor, good for MS teams
Jabra speaker also good for teams calls. Sounds Ok, mute etc on the speaker is reflected in teams. Also works on bluetooth so can conference from the garden..
ipad for SkyQ etc
Morning James,

Can I ask which monitor stand / arm / pole you are using?

I tried a dual arm stand but it used too much space behind the desk, and I now aim to use a set up like yours, one horizontal and one vertical.

TIA

These got a lot of praise some time ago. I have one and it's great.

If you're constrained for space then a wall mounted bracket is slimmest option.

Great thanks, how much space does it require to the rear? I have a little.

P.s. the desk is not fitted yet as I'm unsure if I need the 2m or chop it down to 1.5m, so it's a bit of a mess.

If you look at the images further down the Amazon page you’ll see it barely sticks out further that the desk, approx 5mm, everything overhangs onto the desk, but not by much. The arms are also very flat. It’s a very tidy unit.

If the desk stays like that, you’ll have plenty of space. Does the desktop overhang any framing below? That’s the only issue, the screw needs a bit of space. I’ve had to cut a bit out of a few desks now.

I have this, nearly all the space it takes up is ‘inboard’ of the desk, unless you do something silly with the arms.

Poor birdseye view, but you get the idea:

Ahhh got it, Thank you! I think I will have space around the desk as I will fit the second screen to the right off the desk space. I really didn't realise teh space required behind the desk.

I have a Fully Jarvis desk on the way to me and didn't go for the monitor arms as they say on thier site that you need at least 3-4 inches behind the desk, and for thier dual monitor arms you need 7 inches to get the monitors next to each other.

I think I'll get a riser like techguyone above so I can slide the keyboard underneith the monitor to get extra desk space.

I had a similar issue with the arms touching the wall forcing the monitors forward when I had dual monitors.

Pretty simple to rectify, disassemble an elbow on each side (bolted together), cut the male part down to the correct size, re-drill the hole top and bottom and reassemble.

We’re they small monitors? My 2 23”’s see the arms pretty straight, tight against the wall.

Wouldn't it have been easier still to move the desk away from the wall a bit?

wink

Some people clearly have a different definition of "pretty simple" to me biggrin

I don't want to be drilling the arms (Mainly as I'll stuff it up!)

I'll get the dual arms when I get my second screen back from the ball & chain. I will have the second (24 inch ) screen in a portrait position to the right of mine in the corner.

Thanks for all the suggestions and links!

Here it is finished (so far) including go faster desk lights.

I'm after a standing desk and the Flexispot E6 seems to be a good mid-point one to go for but I'm struggling to find the frame for less than £400 (I want to put a 2m top on it).

Anyone know of any deals at the moment?

No, they were 27" monitors.

Ha! Small office, wasting 3" with the desk be away from the wall didn't make sense. Plus it was a 30 min job to trim them!

I bought the cheapest one I could find on Amazon. It was just under £200. I would recommend spending more as the motor stalls far too much (even when lowering the desk!), despite me putting it on it's least sensitive setting.

It's annoying as they were £70 off yesterday on their website, so £329.99 which I am happy with.

I called them and asked if they would do it for that price but they said no. Gits.
