I'm after a standing desk and the Flexispot E6 seems to be a good mid-point one to go for but I'm struggling to find the frame for less than £400 (I want to put a 2m top on it).
Anyone know of any deals at the moment?
I got the legs for £188 (then a £8 UK power lead) and a Ebay wooden 2m x 62cm desk for £100 (Paid "20 extra for some poor routing...)Anyone know of any deals at the moment?
Legs

Power lead (Way too long)

Desk Top (Its 27mm thick, which on reflection is a little thin. Also needed oiling and sanding, don't believe the advert)

Out of interest - why too thin? Does it flex at 27mm thick (and if so across what centres for supports) or aesthetic / other? The Sagulator suggests that Oak over a span of up to 1.5m barely moves although that is static loads.

It does not flex (yet) but feels a little thin for me. The Sagulator suggests that Oak over a span of up to 1.5m barely moves although that is static loads.

I’ve finished my second mid century monitor housing. Webcam is in the old camera on the right. Three of the buttons are HomeKit scene buttons for changing the lighting for calls and shutting it all down.
That's really cool, it's nice to see something a bit different and extra points for not having a massive printer sat on your desk - what's that all about? There might be a picture way back, but I have a pair of monitors one on top of the other to one side of my main screen. I mounted those in a wooden frame. I say mounted, I made the frame a fraction tight, then used hot-melt glue to stop them falling out. It's sort of wedged between the desk and the shelf above, so you can move it around.
I'm building a new desk, but it needs to be quick to pack away and support at least 5 screens, so I'm looking at some sort of bespoke frame that just sits on the desk to hold all the monitors, possibly brazed brass, though brass is expensive and I'm not sure I know how to braze, or how I would hide all the wires, so it might end up being something completely different.

Yeah they are the Ikea ones although I paid half that when they were on sale last year. a smaller keyboard will slide underneath, I have my personal laptop under one and my work laptop under the other with a KVM to switch between the two.Christ on a bike though, 22 quid!

Hi,Anyone know of any deals at the moment?
I ordered my Flexispot E6 and got it for 296.99.... I clicked the advert to subscribe to their mailing list (used a trash email account) and got 10% off. They are still offering that deal and also are offering cashback....
I've been really happy with mine.
Also, you later mentioned worktop thickness... I've got a 2mx72cm oak worktop that's 27mm thick and it is perfect for a desk. 40mm is too thick for a desk IMO. (got my worktop from house of worktops).

to be fair if you look on amazon and the like £22 is about average for the price, I paid something like that and can fit my biggish Corsair keyboard under it fine.
Almost the same set up here. Flexi stand legs, modded Ikea top, and three of those stands,
One for my Mac, one for a curved wide screen, one for my MBP.

It's annoying as they were £70 off yesterday on their website, so £329.99 which I am happy with.
I called them and asked if they would do it for that price but they said no. Gits.
Bizarrely, I checked the website again today and the E6 is back to £329.99 - why they put it back to full price for a day is rather strange but hey-ho.I called them and asked if they would do it for that price but they said no. Gits.
The E7 (same frame but 'premium' controller) is also the same price. Got another 10% off by subscribing to their newsletter, taking it down to £296.99 and also went via Quidco who are tracking with 4% cashback, so that's another £9.90 off.
Managed to save almost £113 (28%) by waiting less than 24 hours - madness!
