On the subject of AA - I've noticed Amazon Audible doesn't work. My usual media players (musicolet, YouTube music etc all work fine, but if I press play on a podcast it plays for about 3 seconds and then just automatically pauses.

Any thoughts? Pixel 6 Pro.

Yes.

My last car had a wireless charging pad, and wireless AA, the pad couldn't quite keep up over a 5hr journey, with the battery dropping by about half.

Not charging the phone, wireless AA would eat the battery in a couple of hours.
My car only had wired android auto so I bought one of those wireless boxes from Amazon. It now works wirelessly and I havent noticed any effect on battery life at all. I think it creates a wifi connection though so maybe that is why.

On a work trip this week, have a 22 plate 4 series hire car with Android Auto over Bluetooth. After a few miles I noticed my Pixel 4a in my pocket was getting very hot. By the time I arrived in Stoke the battery was almost run flat. Is this 'normal' for wireless Android Auto?
Yes.

Many thanks. I was considering fitting a wireless Android Auto module to my new car, I may reconsider now.

Funny enough, I fitted one to my car last night. Will see how we do on a 5hr drive to Wales this weekend.

My headunit has both wired and wireless and I prefer wired as it will keep it fully charged, I've also experienced weirdness with the wireless Android Auto whereas wireless Airplay seems to work fine.

Still wish they would put the realtime speed in Android Auto like they do in the standalone Maps app.

I've yet to try wired. The wire for mine (aftermarket) is in the glove box, but it's a female connector so I could run a long cable from the glove box to in the centre armrest I guess (glove box would still close with a cable). I use Android auto every single journey (music streaming, mainly) so it's handy to just let it do its thing.

I usually have Waze on and that shows GPS speed.

I've noticed a weird little stutter from mine occasionally lately. Not sure if it's the phone or the apps but it's almost like a frame is dropped here and there. It'll happen, then not for a long while, then it reappears when I least suspect it.

I'm still having the issues with screen (tap once then tap again for it to register the tap after presumably waking the touch aspect up to sense the second tap) which is still annoying but I'm living with it.

Even with that issue, the 7 is still by far the best phone in its price range.

I think a fix has been pushed out very recently.

It's a server side push, so nothing for you to do.

Does anyone else find their pixel (P6 Pro for me) randomly turns Bluetooth off? I reckon it happens once every 1-2 weeks. No idea why?

Only turns off for me when I've inadvertently activated the phone in my pocket, not actually opened it and pulled down the menu from the top and knocked the Bluetooth section, turning it off, this is frustrating as I'd rather not have the capability to pull down the menu with the phone not open.

My 4a was doing this frequently (once a day or so) for ages. It seems to have stopped now though and I'm not doing anything different (e.g. how I hold the phone or pull it out of my pocket etc.) so I presumed it was a bug that has now been fixed.

My 4a has been spontaneously rebooting itself fairly frequently of late, a couple of times now it's also gotten stuck in a reboot loop which has required some jiggery pokery to get out of. I decided last night to take the plunge and ordered a 7a as they have £100 off just now and suggested I can get another £90 for 4a as trade in. As someone above said, you get a free set of Pixel Buds which I'm not interested in so they'll get sold too. Looking forward to it arriving on Tuesday smile

I'm loving my 7a but I have a couple of gripes - On the lock screen, I can pull down and turn things on and off, can that be changed or disabled as it seems like a security gotcha? I also don't like the google search bar, but I've read I can't get rid of that - ah well.
