Nvidia RTX 4000 Launch
Discussion
I’m still after a 3070Ti or similar in Strix form (to undervolt and de-shroud for htpc), but prices are still silly vs FE, and given how old they now are…
There has to be a supply glut coming… perhaps just a bit suppressed right now as people are catching up on GPU upgrades they’d deferred?

EVGA's 4090 that never was to be.
The most expensive RTX 4090EVGA are selling one for charity it's up to $9000 right now - https://www.overclock3d.net/news/gpu_displays/evga...
I’m half tempted to stop bothering with trying to get the FE. Either they didn’t make many or they don’t want to sell them for some reason.
The PNY card looks alright, physically smaller than other 4090s. Limited to 100% power but that’s fine as I am planning on power limiting it anyway. Maybe I’ll wait to see what happens in the new year.

i still cant see why you would take a 4090 over the 7900xtx for the performance difference unless you really have to have them rays
the 60% cost difference is a huge stumbling block
yes the 7900 has bugs and quirks like its idle power consumption but they will be fixed soon
The XTX needs to be cheaper than it is. Even if you don’t give a rats arse about RT, power efficiency, or build quality, DLSS alone almost justifies the jump to the 4080. the 60% cost difference is a huge stumbling block

The 4090 is a 4K overkill card that can set its own price as there’s no competition.

Annoyingly all AMD cards are seriously awful in iRacing (the main game I play) so I'm pretty much forced to get Nvidia, I agree the XTX looks like a serious value proposition though.the 60% cost difference is a huge stumbling block
