Slightly different from showing my actual workstation... a few at work are competing to show off a more interesting background for VCs. Virtual backgrounds don't count.
I'm not winning (by a long shot) but I do get a lot of questions:
Nice work 😃 I get a lot of questions too. I made this for my office I'm not winning (by a long shot) but I do get a lot of questions:

That's epic. I love it.The sign is animated with an arduino
I have been looking at the Nanoleaf hexagons, or the Govee versions anyway which are cheaper, better interface and they light up into the corners where the Nanoleaf ones do not. I was originally going to light up the box-holes where my speakers sit with them, and have them change colour but for £10 and a reel of 4-core wire, I cut up one of those Alexa-enable LED strips instead.
I still fancy a set of Hexagons to play with but I've nowhere else to put them.
Here's a better pic than the one above.
Picking up a couple of posts missed whilst I was in the naughty step.
The drawers aren't connected, there's two pairs of adjustable height furniture stoppers screwed into the top of the drawers. These are set at the same height as the desk at its lowest setting so it rests on these when in sitting position, which makes it extra stable. You can see the front ones here:

How are you driving the speakers? Assume you have an amp tucked away and they don’t plug straight to PC?
There's a cheapo Sabaj A4 class D that drives the 2010s. Currently just dual channel though I'm keeping my eye out for a 2070 subwoofer on the usual auction sites. HammyHamster said:
That desk looks great. May I ask - what are the details of the wooden desktop (size/make)? Also it looks like the drawer unit it connected to the desk, how does that work when you raise the desk?
Cheers.
The desk is a 2000x720x27mm kitchen worktop from House of Worktops, in beech. It's the standard unfinished one with a 3mm bevel top and bottom and 80mm corner fillets on the front. Cheers.

Is the glare from the sea, or from your neighbours?
Haha, neighbours are actually further away than it looks from the pic and all the rooms people use have windows the sea side of the house so it's not an issue anyway.mmm-five said:

Now has anyone got any anti glare tips?!
Bring it all inside to a room with no windows, or a cellar/dungeon?DoubleSix said:
Portishead?
Spot on. Are you local? We've only moved here in the last couple of years so I haven't met too many petrolheads yet and need to find some good car friends and car meets!DoubleSix said:

Just kidding
I’m in Bristol but my brother probably lives a matter of yards from you. The changing weather across the estuary makes for engaging views.

Yes it does indeed. I think I've met most of my neighbours so if he does I probably know him (especially if he has a dog!). If not then I'd likely know where he was from the cars on his drive as that's what I always remember.
