First thing have you checked in your router to see if the Dot is connected to the wireless? Click on the "About" on the app make a note of the MAC address and then log into your router and see if it is one of the connected devices?
Other things to check - are you on the latest version of the Alexa App?
Some other tips here https://www.lifewire.com/fix-alexa-app-offline-468...
I did have an Amazon Show that died on me so there ultimately it may be borked.

Thanks for the help. Woke up this morning and it’s all working. Strange but there we go!!
I think the issue is the 2.4Ghz vs 5Ghz. The device has finally logged into the 2.4. I had a similar issue and it was recommended to have 2 wifis, so I set one for just the echos and made it 2.4 only. Obviously it can still get to the internet through the same gateway.
Dot 3's do 5GHz but mine were joining on both frequencies causing issue, once they were all on the same, it was fine. I kept putting music on everywhere and 1 would not play. 2.4GHz has more range, so the ones further away from the wireless box were only joining on 2.4
Dots can connect to 5Ghz. It might be that the 5Ghz signal is weak or your 5Ghz band is set to a channel the Dot doesn't support. If it's connected to 2.4Ghz happy days, it doesn't really need 5Ghz.
You could see if you can set up a guest 2.4Ghz network to stop it trying to connect to the 5Ghz if they've got the same SSID

Well my Ikea smart bulbs have been working for about a year without a gateway and without any issues with all my Echo devices until this weekend when I had to isolate first all the plug sockets and then the lighting ring upstairs and downstairs
Now nothing works - in the Alexa App All devices are listed as "unresponsive"
All lights work fine manually on the light switches
I've reset the Wifi router
I've reset all the Echo devices
Turned all the lights on and off 6 times to reset
Nothing seems to make them work again
Anyone seen this before?

I don't have Ikea smart plug, but for most brands of smart device you use a Skill within the Alexa app. Have you checked that you're still signed in within the Ikea Skill?
In the Alexa App when you go to select devices (Bulbs) it gives you the option to select IKEA and then it discovers the bulbs - I don't ever remember enabling a skill to do thisOk, so your Ikea smart bulbs are controlled by a wireless network technology called Zigbee. If you don't have a hub, you must be using the build-in hub on the more expensive Echo devices (Echo Plus and some Echo Shows). If Ikea support is built into the Alexa app, an external skill won't be needed.
If you've turned the lights on and off six times to reset them, I think they would have forgotten their old hub and tried looking for a new hub. Did you use say "Alexa discover devices" or use the app to search for new bulbs immediately after resetting the bulbs?
