Olight have the Seeker 2 with approx 40% off. So it’s £80. Is that a good deal/torch?
Astrolux EC01 (which I have and would recommend) has a few more lumens and is also 40% off, $27 (yes USD) now.

Ive ordered BLF A6 from Banggood.com, main use will be identifying dog poo in autumnal leaves in the dark. Will it do the job?

It doesn’t come with a battery or charger. Any useful information on 18650 Li ion batteries and chargers before I buy some rubbish off eBay?

Yes - from about 50m !

I bought a decent charger / batteries from Banggood - a quick search will show what's good - it changes regularly

Would it be OK if I asked why you would want to do that?

It's not so much that I want to, apparently it is expected of me by society.

Thanks, I'll have a look, but have some basic questions. I think the BFL A6 has low voltage protection. Does that mean it is ok to use unprotected cells? Also does it matter if I choose flat top or button top?

I like the look of the Nitecore charger for £13

Yeah - assuming it is your own dogs eggs that you are hunting for, rather than just hunting any and all dog eggs.
"Oooh that's from a Rhodesian Ridgeback on a diet of Webbox, I don't have one of them yet"

That would be an even weirder hobby that torch collecting....!

Unprotected flat top cells are fine.

I've bought a couple of torches that I don't need as a result of this thread, and now I realise just how much I need an Olight Seeker 2 Pro.

Which I also don't need.

I got some flat top unprotected batteries for one of my torches (convoy s2+), but the springs are so tight it actually dented in the top to the point where I couldn't charge it anymore. I try to ensure whatever I get is a buttontop provided it fits now to avoid that happening.

Need some help identifying what battery type this

Bought a chunky cheap Chinese torch a few months back (as you can see behind the battery) that takes 2 of them. Annoyingly they don’t seem to hold their charge for longer than a day tops. They charge via micro usb in the torch itself. Didn’t expect much for £20 or so inc delivery but still

Measure the dimensions and look it up on this chart, diameter and length is all that is needed to get the battery name.

Good call, if it's losing its charge after a day it's ste in any case. Once you figure out what it is, let us know on here, may be able to recommend something better.

Haven't bought any torches in ages. Although I probably have enough. A few of the total:
