I'd say 4k60 would be the best blend of image quality, smoothness and file size, although make no mistake the files will still be BIG. Depends what you want it for. If it's just throwaway video then FHD will be fine. 8k seems completely overkill to me

Couldn't agree more, it will fine on 4k TV's. When you record, enable HDR10+ for the best results.

I got mine in Feb and immediately started playing with the camera.I could zoom into birds on the feeder and get decent photos. If I try to zoom more than approx 10x now my camera goes out of focus.

What have I done?

I have a lowly s20 but thought this thread was good place to ask.
When recording video is there a best setting to use?
There is a choice of HD30, FHD30, FHD60, UHD30, UHD60, and 8K 24. I've been using FHD30 which seems fine also when viewed on a 40" 4k panasonic TV but not sure if I'm missing out. Should I record in UHD30 or 60? I may need a memory card as I understand the files will be much larger.
S21 Ultra has no memory card slot so bear that in mind.

I'm in the wrong thread but I'm using a s20 standard which can take a memory card

Ah yes, didn't spot that. Might as well go for 60FPS to reduce blur?

Upgrade time. Still using Galaxy S6.
After S21 ultra 512gb. Missed out on 15% off deal from samsung so dont really want to pay full price.
Seen a good price from BT, but its a returned/ recon phone.

Worth it or pay full price for a new one?

Yes. I doubt that you can find good deals anymore this year because rising costs, supply problems etc. Damn this is a good phone. Seriously.

Had a chance to really push the cameras on the S21 U during the first proper holiday since getting it.

I would be more than happy if I could have got these shots from Olympus EM5 II camera but the fact these came from my phone that was also been used constantly for itinerary planning and route checking is simply amazing.

The S22Ultra will need to be turly special in the camera department to beat the S21U.

The quality of those pictures are amazing. The camera on the S21U never ceases to amaze me.

I got my S21 Ultra yesterday and have a query with the protective film on the screen.

As always new phones come with a protective film which has a flap to peal off both front back and sides. I have done that but the screen appears to have an additional tighter, albeit badly fitted film.

It looks like those aftermarket protectors you can get. You can see around the front facing camera it's not on properly and it has bubbles down one edge that I just can't seem to flatten out.

Has anyone else has this and have you left yours on or removed it?

Mine was fitted perfectly but I removed it because it picked up some marks.

Mine's an S21 not a + but screen protector fitted perfectly, put on a spigen case which has a raised edge all way round, still perfect. Touches wood.

Daughter on an S10, her original screen protector got a very slight mark, removed it, now regrets because none of the aftermarket ones fit as well as that one did.

Mine is just the same. I left it on for now but it is starting to look quite marked.

Blimey, the first thing I did was get shot of mine. It's a terrible protector and the glass is one of the strongest out there.

I had been looking to get an s21+ for the last few weeks.. but just picked up a S20 fe 5g for £460 on amazon and a 256gb ad card for £32, so loads cheaper than a s21. Reviews seem to say the s20 fe and s21 are pretty darn close in performance, with the ultra being a big step up for photos. Coming from a s8 I'm hoping the s20 will be a big leap on!

Cheeky request time, does anyone by any chance have a Samsung birthday discount code available? Mine has just expired (15%off) and I want to get a S21 Ultra for my partner, I absolutely love mine but deals are not great at the moment.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a screen protector? My factory fit one has started to peel and I've checked Amazon but there's absolutely loads....!
