Interesting...

Could you post up the included paper that came with your case?
I'm afraid I've binned that now frown It's a Torro case if it makes any difference. Instructions just basically says ensure the flap is folded as flat as possible when opened. Apparently the microphone is in the camera and if there is a gap it will cause interference.

Me neither. Just checked and the four closest Apple stores have them available today.

When I went to pick mine up, they had booked about 10 people in at the same time. Fortunately I was first as I hate the idea of queuing for things like this.

By the time I left, I reckon there were 30 people in the queue - some had appointments, some had gone down on spec and been allocated a phone. The other people who had the same time slots as me were still waiting...

Yup. That’s what I did on Saturday at Thurrock. Added the pass in to the wallet, walked straight in and was greeted by a salesperson who had become free at that very moment. Barcode scanned, phones brought out and that was that. No queueing. My brother spent longer waiting to pay for the Mophie wireless chargers that he decided to buy than I did for the phones.

FYI updated stocks appear 6am sharp.

Still really loving mine and combined with the AirPods is such a great day to day tool for work and play. I just wish you could turn off the little black bar at the bottom. I've had it two weeks now and I don't need to be reminded where to swipe up. Which reminds me, life without a home button becomes very natural within minutes. It now seems very weird and old tech to use a phone or tablet that has one.

Mine finally arrived and I’ve set it all up; first thing I noticed was how horrid the tinge was - next to my 7 Plus, it looked cheap and nasty; and that’s with this new fangled screen... it was purely the natural hue.

I’m sensitive to this stuff and so thought I’d send it back - but quick mess about in the settings, found the hue shift option in accessibility... and I was able to ‘sort of’ match the natural hue I was used to.

I’m not sure these new screens are as great as people make out; can’t say I like the OLED colour / tinge they all seem to suffer with.

Anyway; I’m sticking with it now.

So the AirPods sound as bad and fit in the ear as bad as the standard headphones?

They sound much better and due to not having leads don't fall out of my ears, other ear shapes are available and may have issues. biggrin

I'm not really a far of the colour either, it looks way too yellow. The battery life however is fantastic coming from my iPhone 6, I had never managed a whole day of use without charging during the day before but I have just managed to get TWO full days of use from a single charge which is impressive.

See every review that I have read from decent hifi sources not just tech magazines suggest they sound just as bad as the freebies and are giving them very very low scores.

Go to a store and try some. I was a sceptic but tried a friends set and really liked them. They're open though so background noise is high. They're pretty poor on the tube for instance. They suit what I use them for, they may not suit everyone. Apparently a second gen set are due soon with wireless charging case and some form of noise cancelling.

If anybody’s interested all of the X models except the bigger memory in silver were available at the Apple store in Stratford this morning. No queuing and no need to order, just buy.

To those complaining about memory, especially with photos, download Google Photos. It's free, works in the cloud and gives you two options: free at an average quality pic or high quality for a price.!
You can do that with iCloud photos too.

I found this when I first switched on my X, Do you have True tone switched on?

I think the truth is that we have all go used to a cool colour palate that wasn't accurate, but looked clean. True Tone is supposed to be more realistic.

What I noticed, apart from the warmer tinge when I first switched it on was that the display looked like a piece of paper stuck on top of the phone. The display is somehow more prominent.

I turned True Tone off on mine. It works really well on my iPad Pro but on the X it’s way too orange.

True Tone OFF and hue change in Accessibility > Display Accommodations > Colour Filters | then scroll down and change Colour Tint / Hue and set the slider to 2/3 the way across. It’ll make things better for you. It seems to be what many are doing!

I personally quite like True Tone and how it adapts to the ambient lighting. It's akin to my work monitor which has some kind of feature to protect eye sight.
