That's great....
I guess the days of needing a full sized helicopter and film crew are at an end!
Except the people recording me really know what they are doing. Both expert radio model fliers - lots of heli experience - and the chap doing the video stuff trains people to be video editors.I guess the days of needing a full sized helicopter and film crew are at an end!
It's not a case of no longer needing a full-sized helicopter and film crew meaning anyone can do it. I plan some more ambitious filming when I have a Caterham to play with.

the design of mine means the props stay out of the video

I was on the Grand Motte glacier in Tignes a couple of weeks ago and there were two guys up there with an awesome-looking 'copter - I can't call it a quad as it had, I think, 8 rotors (possibly 6). It was about 4-5 ft diameter and fully camera-equipped. Unfortunately the wind blew up and they didn't fly it. It split in the middle to remove the rotors, they did this and were mucking about with the camera setup. Wonder what that was?
To the poster complaining about future legislation. We all know there are plenty of idiots out there and now one of these is going to have a quadcopter, there has already been a near miss at Heathrow because of someone not following pretty basic rules.
How will you feel if you're on the plane that has to avoid the earlier mentioned idiot flying it somewhere it shouldn't be.
As for the height limit, there is not a max altitude, only a requirement to be able to see it adequately but there is a weight limit of I think 7kg.

Interesting site although it's missing some restricted areas I was expecting to see like sandingham. Gassing Station | Computers, Gadgets & Stuff | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
