Our business services provide that functionality.

Sorry that you feel the way you do, but supporting that sort of functionality gives significant support costs which has to be reflected in the prices we charge.

Sorry, I didn't want to sound like I'm knocking UK Online... the was (somewhat paradoxically) because I consider UK Online to be a good outfit - I have a backup dialup account with UK Online, and find them easy to deal with, with intelligent support staff who don't have kittens if you mention Linux; indeed I recommend the broadband service to people who don't want to run SMTP/HTTP servers - and therefore find the port blocking to be more irritating than I otherwise would. Sort of how I'd consider finding a maggot in an otherwise sound-looking apple more annoying than finding an apple with obvious mould on the surface.

(As it is, I'm with Metronet, who provide no port blocking and no caps - my main requirements - for not a lot more.)
