Would be amazed if you didn't. Most people just get basic broadband for £20-£30 a month. You are willing to give them a lot more, you are worth a lot to them.

Slight tangent. What type of Hubs does everyone have?

I logged into my Virgin site today to check something and had a pop up offering a Hub 3 upgrade? Apparently were on a very out of date Hub 1.

I obviously clicked yes because Man Maths says 3 > 1. Is there actually difference?

PS. I am aware that general opinion is that most of the ISP routers are rubbish but I’ve never been technical minded/bothered enough to sort something else out

Looks nicer, takes longer to connect. But that might be the server. Takes about 3 minutes. Used to take 1.

So I should just keep the original Hub then?

Why on earth is it an upgrade?

Supposedly the 3 has better wifi than the one (the one is terrible for wifi) - I still have a one but it is in modem mode connected to my R7800 router (which gives decent wifi throughout the house and garden) .

Sorry, I would be just guessing - can handle faster speeds, better wifi capability, improved security?

Just I be highly suspicious after the offer of a Hub 3 upgrade that our old Hub 1 now seems to be completely dead?

Or should I be annoyed that despite being told a new Hub would arrive in 24 hours it hasn’t and Virgins website is a complete st show?

Just did the broadband dance. The 0800 number posted above works well. Easier than previous times.

Double bonus.

Yodel sent it to the wrong Hub. Delivery tomorrow apparently.

I left virgin a few months ago as they couldnt provide a service at my new house. Bloke randomly arrived today to collect the virgin hub at my new house. I wasnt in but my wife said she has no idea where it is.

They also still owe me money!

Anyone else had this with a bloke arriving for the gear?

Try 0800 9522277.
Thanks Hoofy. Did the trick.
Same here, price went up £14 a month due to removal of loyalty discount. Rang the number above, full discount re-applied without having to make any 'I want to cancel' threats smile

Yeah - I was surprised how easy it was this time round. Not sure where I got the number from. Have tattooed it on my inner arm.

The Super hub 3 is utterly crap. We were with Virgin from the Telewest days, so about 15 years. Never had a problem until Virgin forced a Superhub 3 on us.

It was absolutely crap from the day it was plugged in. It was slow and constantly dropping connections. Initially that it was our problem not the hub, then than they don't guarantee any WiFi so wasn't their problem. Support was dire.

Initially we solved the problem by piggybacking our own router, but recently swapped to Sky for half the cost.

Go to their support pages and look for superhub3 issues. There are many in the same boat.

Conversely, mine has been utterly reliable. Never given me a seconds' bother. And when you look through the support pages, don't forget the several million people out there who haven't had issues and therefore haven't posted on the support pages.

I'm sure that there are some duds out there. But to condemn every unit as 'utterly crap' is a huge distortion of the truth, which is that almost all of them work just fine.

Mine was fine until the weather warmed up, then it would need a daily reset to keep working.

Changed my setup in lockdown and got an ASU’s router connected to the hub3, it’s light and day. Constant, stable WiFi, better range, better speeds. Yes the router cost me £150 but we’ve easily had the use in lockdown with everyone at home hammering the internet connection.

On 100mb broadband only. Gone up to £43.50, was previously £31.50.

Rang up on the 0800 number mentioned earlier, 20 mins of waiting. Couldn’t match the old price so asked them to start the cancellation process. Lets see if retentions ring me back!

Will be interesting to see what if anything you get. They hate people on broadband only as there's little chance to upsell and it's so easy for them to go somewhere else. You can tell that by the flat £44/month for basic broadband - no initial discount to entice you in or anything. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they thought there isn't enough margin in there make it worth significantly discounting.

Uh oh. Maybe I should have taken him up on the slightly reduced offer. Let’s see if retentions ring me.

Now to ring Sky and get that daft bill down!
