how did you find the cubot?
Am looking for a phone for around £60 for a 10yo girl, so just want it to be sturdy, hassle free yet stylish enough. Seems there are both Cubots and Oukitels in this price range. Am not expecting too much, hopefully just something ok.
Cubot X15 was very good in the sense that I never found it to struggle with anything. Only changed as I offloaded it to my other half after she broke her phone. If we're about to start avoiding all Chinese electronics we're going to have a fairly stark choice...
Raspberry PiPhone's all round https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/piphone-home-made...
No, I'm not going to check where the components are made.

Agreed. Very impressed with the Oukitel. I think K10000 is same as mine but with bigger battery? Could be wrong.
Looks different to me,k10000 is built from reinforced concrete and needs a sack truck to carry it around, but bloody hell the batteries good..I lose the charger regularly because it gets used so little.Funkycoldribena said:
I'd take a closer look..
Its has the worlds biggest smartphone battery.
It'll reverse charge an iPhone over three times.
I reckon in my hands that would last maybe 27 hours, my nexus 6P lasts about 15hours max.Its has the worlds biggest smartphone battery.

i always look at online reviews such as on amazon plus youtube videos. i ignore the positive ones . that one with the massive battery was interesting but had quite a few negative reviews. plenty of decently specified chinese phones out there but warranty issues are a concern
Lots of people mention warranty concerns. When you can buy 3 or 4 brand new phones and still have change left over from the price of one Samsung I don't get why it would be a "concern". Spitfire2 said:

As said, get a good spec Moto G for a similar price without warranty concerns. Sill 1/3 the price of an iphone or high end samsung.Just bought myself a Doogee X5 Pro Max, sourced it locally for less than any I could find in UK, just a tick over 80quid delivered.
Looks pretty good so far, will be getting a 32gb microSD to bump up the storage from 16gb.
Hopefully the Chinese won't steal all my email conversations with Hillary Clinton.

Which is nothing to be honest as the Chinese phone I had got removed from eBay as it had many viruses and backdoors, keyloggers and other nasties pre-installed.
