Just a heads up but Last Pass is changing from 16 March 2021. On or after that date, whatever device you first login with will be the device type that Last Pass continues to work with, so if you login on a computer, that's what you have to use it with. If you login with a mobile device like a phone or tablet then that's what you have to use going forward. Unless you pay them the $2.27 a month of course.

Yes, that's the free version that is being reduced to one device only. I paid £12 for three years Premium but it's about to run out & £32 a year is too much for me so I'm migrating to Bitwarden. It's a pain as you can't migrate stored files but I'll just have to flog through uploading them again.Mr Pointy said:

You can export a CSV that contains all details (including passwords) from LastPass. Is it possible to import that CSV into Bitwarden?I couldn't imagine changing mine right now - I have that many sites stored!
Yes, yes you can

It took me less than 5 minutes to move over

I've also moved to Bitwarden but in my case from Dashlane. Loved Dashlane when I first started with it but it seemed to get worse rather than better. Bitwarden works better now (and it's free). I may switch to premium at some point as I do like to support software I use a lot.
Just need to get the Mrs using it now

I must admit my initial response to hearing this was that LastPass are going to ps off a load of users - but then they don't care, those users aren't making them any money anyway. Some will upgrade to premium, others will leave. They either make some money or get rid of a load of non-value users so I can see why they've done it.

I paid for Lastpass Premium but I'm not paying the new rate so I'm one paying customer that's leaving. I'll pay $10 for Bitwarden as I like the abilty to store files.Mr Pointy said:

Yes. Last time I purchased it it was £9. Then I stopped as it offered literally no benefits over the free version. Now they want a standard rate of £30 a year they can ps off.
Yes, I remember signing up about 5 years ago and paying $12/yr which seemed reasonable but then they started ramping it up to something like $50 which I thought was high so switched to free with no discernible difference in functionality. I will see how I get on with the iPhone/iPad only option for a month or 2 and if that is too much of a pain not having Mac access as well then it looks like Bitwarden is the way to go. I tried a few others last year after realising how much LP slows down the browser populating fields left right and Center.
But went back, as just turns out I quite like it filling all the fields all the time without me asking.
Any consensus building on good alternatives? At this point it looks like I'll be paying.

Filling in fields without user input is actually a bit of a security risk. It has been found to fill in hidden form fields and therefore details can be stolen (at least in theory). But went back, as just turns out I quite like it filling all the fields all the time without me asking.

It is only 2 clicks to populate with Bitwarden.
