Ditto. If there were new features I'd be more impatient, but bug fixes for issues I don't have I can wait for.

just got home from work and checked again, still nothing, how do they go about sending the updates, is it from network to network or is it done some other way

Maybe it's by country? Zespack and I are both outside the uk. My N5 was bought without contract, and I don't have mobile internet. The update popped up when I connected to my home wifi.

Everyone with samsung phones got the update today, everyone with a nexus is still waiting.

I'm pretty sure one of the main selling points was OS updates before everyone else?
The update Samsung are doing at the moment is their initial release of KitKat which the Nexus devices have been on for the last 6 months. The update for the Nexus devices coming out now is 4.4.3, and the only Samsung devices getting that are the Google Play editions which aren't available in the UK.

When a new update is released, the delivery is staged. Initially only a small number of devices receive it, say 1%. If there are no major problems, the percentage is increase to 10%, and then maybe 25% and so on until everyone has it. When your device checks for an update, if it doesn't receive it then it won't in that round until google release the next batch. This process takes a couple of weeks after which your device will always get the update when it checks.

They do this because it spreads the network load of several million devices all trying to update at once, and more importantly if a problem like a major bug is discovered, they can halt the roll out before everyone's device ends up with a broken release.

If you want to install it manually, you can download the .zip file for your device to your PC and use the adb tool to send it to the phone via USB. It's quite simple to do, but you need to install the android developer tools to do it.

Anyone else updated to 4.4.3? Mine came through about two hours ago. So far the only difference is the phonebook/contacts.

Mine came through on the day it was released. The only thing I've noticed is when sending an SMS message that is big, instead of several info boxes popping up to tell me my credit remaining it now appears as several lines in one box. (£16.20 remaining, £16.10 remaining etc).

Does anybody notice the volume freezes on screen when watching a video on YouTube et al? The volume can still be changed but the on screen indicator key just freezes.
This happens on my N4
Also N4 yes, but only for last couple of months
It's weird. All was fine then one day it starts to do this. I wonder if it's one of the apps I have installed?
It appears as though the update has fixed this issue for me.

Messing with the phone a little more shows it has only been semi fixed. YouTube still has this issue. A small but annoying niggle.

Not sure how much this helps, but I have official youtube app and not aware of any issues before update.
Just tested post-update and volume slider moves inline with volume.
Maybe it's a conflict with another app or setting causing this issue for some?

Don't download the new software if you use sky go, it doesn't work with it as I discovered after updating my nexus 7. Sky say they're working on it so hopefully sorted soon.

Anybody else has there Nexus 5 calling people?

phone was on the work surface the other day, screen turned off etc and I could hear a voice, picked up phone and it had called a mate..

Problem is it had been on the work surface for about an hour and nobody had been near it.

Has this occurred more than once?
Can't say I've ever had a phone doing this on it's own.

Not had the problem myself, but I can easily believe it.

Suffered a few Android bugs, like home screens disappearing and email sync settings have changed since the last OS update. I've also had alarms fail to go off on more than one occasion which is a bug that I suffered on my first Android phone years ago...

The roaming issue is getting worse now, went the pub last night and it just kept going to roaming.

Only way to fix it was to go to networks and get it to scan for networks then automatically select again.
