Has anyone installed a different ROM on their 5?

I have itchy finger and need to tinker, but don't know which to try.

Smooth and great battery is what I'm after (although I have that now anyway hehe ) and they all claim to have that.

I've used cyanogen in the past, but keen to try something else.

I really should get a QI charger, had the phone a year and a half redface
Are the cheapy eBay ones like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDEW-Q5-Qi-Wireless-Cha... any good, or have people on here died in a ball of fire? (not sure if the overcharging protection is managed by the phone or pad, I strongly suspect the former)
And are they likely to work with an el cheapo silicon case? As if I have to take the damned thing off the phone every time I want to charge it, I may as well use a cable.

I have an LG G3 and bought the LG Qi charger, I've also used it also for my N7 (landscape) it'll work well with the N5.

This is it, but shop around - http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00XPTN0I2/ref=pd_lpo_s...

I prefer it to lying down ones. It's an official one and I'd rather go with one of them than an unknown cheapy.

yeah i've had these type for a nexus 4 - usually work quite well, but better with a 2amp charger to charge at 1amp I think - the wireless magic must cost some power.

My Nexus 5 had a small Android update last night, but the battery life has been terrible today - has anyone else had the update and experienced this?

Mine has always had a terrible battery, Steve!
Best thing I did to help it was Greenify Facebook. Has helped, but still awful.
I think the patch was just to stop that MMS thing?

Mine updated yesterday, took a while and updated 119 items or something like that. On version 5.1.1, don't know if that changed. Haven't noticed a difference in battery today, at anything else for that matter.

Still can't login to PH on my phone, anyone else have that issue?

Yep, I had a 10mb update on my N7, still ran through all the apps updating though, have a Stagefright test app and when it had said vulnerable before it said everything was good and safe after.

Normally it's ok, getting me through a day with normal use. Today it was down to 20% by 6pm having been barely used. Looking at the battery usage breakdown nothing stands out, although adding everything up it only totals 25% so I'm not sure what is going on there...

I've put Android M on mine to see if it can lure me back to using it!

Worth considering that the battery hardware might actually be failing. My battery life was getting really bad with little actual use and nothing standing out in the stats. I did a clean reinstall which helped a bit (especially idle drain) but still wasn't great. Then it started behaving oddly suddenly dropping from 50-60% to 15% in the blink of an eye, so I replaced the battery sourced from eBay for about £12 and since then it's been much much better, back to how it was when I first bought it.

I have a Nexus 6, but don't like it as much as my previous Nexus 5. Looking forward to a new (LG) Nexus 5, and will study the (rumoured) Huawei Nexus 6 replacement carefully!
