Fingers crossed you reserve one
Has anyone with a 7 Plus tried to use the new camera properly so far? The Plus just feels like its too big of a phone to use and carry around for me, how have others found the upgrade. I know this must have been asked before sorry
As much as I want a Plus, I just don't think I could live with it. I bought a 6 Plus originally but the returned it as I just knew it would be a pain. Holding it and using it is no issue, it's the practicality of carrying it around that was annoying.Has anyone with a 7 Plus tried to use the new camera properly so far? Does anyone have a link to this interest free option everyone seems to be talking about? I can't seem to find it online.
Google makes finding things like this easier:http://www.apple.com/uk/shop/iphone/iphone-upgrade...

The keyboard is odd too, in the past it would go back to the letters are you'd used punctuation, now it doesn't (or does sometimes), seems it's a bug that will be sorted in a later release!
That's bugging me about iOS10 too. It's making typing short messages quite a protracted process! (Isn't it?)K12beano said:

one of the things that's bugging me about ios10 is that even when you close an app, the next time you open it, it goes straight back to the exact bit you were on, for example:- open emails, look through messages, go to junk mail, clear that out, finished in emails, double tap home button, close down 'mail' app. then next time I go back into 'mail' it opens straight up in my junk mail.
- open settings, sounds, turn off vibrate when phone is on desk at work, double tap home button, close down settings page. next time I go into 'settings' it takes me straight into the 'sounds' sub section.

Well after a couple of days use I'm quite impressed, definitely seems more snappy and quicker to respond.
Still getting to grips with the haptic home button.

Glad those two quirks aren't just happening to me!Still getting to grips with the haptic home button.

I really like the new haptic home button, but I'm wondering whether the amount of click it produces adjusts based on the pressure you apply? I've chosen level 2 and on occasion, the click feedback feels very light and at other times, it feels stronger.
I noticed the keyboard quirk, too, where I'd be typing as per usual and then would suddenly produce a whole bunch of random punctuations due to expecting it to revert to letters.
I'm hoping for some battery life optimisations under iOS 10. I've got the 7 Plus and whilst it definitely outshines my old 6, it doesn't quite match people's claims from the last 2 years that the Plus models last 1/4 to 1/3 longer.

iStockNow is pretty decent for stock checking. The way they've held back on stock for the 7+ is bks though, no apple store in the world currently has unlocked 7+ models. Poor show from such a huge company.
I recall the 6S+ being a bit of a flop, so maybe that?Edited by Mr Happy on Tuesday 20th September 10:27

No, it's all very simple. They need the production line in order to produce these phones. Let's say they estimate to sell 70 million non-plus and 30 million plus models over the next year.
Let's rework that to about 80k (plus models) they can churn out in a day.
They get the production line running, start producing for launch let's say a month or 3 so about 7.2 million.
Then, opening weekend, they'll sell about that number, maybe more, maybe a bit less. But the inventory is all over the place so it's impossible to satisfy everybody who wants one on launch day (as is their audience apparently).
So they have two solutions:
- Start producing earlier, which is probably not the best idea considering leaks and will cut in your time to get ready.
- Ramp up production, which means that the week or month after launch, you're stuck with an overproduction.
That said, it's very simple economics.
Step into a Fiat dealership for their new 124 on launch day, and then complain why it would take them half a year to get it delivered while they can get you a 500 in two months.
I don't get how bizarre that is? I've worked in this business for years, we managed two big chains of about 70 stores each, you place your stock where you think it will sell. If you only have a limited number of phones, you're bound to run out in some stores and then still have 2 or 3 in another...
Or am I missing something here?

I may not have explained it clearly, sorry. Or am I missing something here?
I've been trying to reserve online through the normal process, but the system reports no stock in the store for allocation. Yet, when I phone up and ask, they do have stock that can be sold there and then.
I assume the business team have access to additional stock that is not available to the normal web reservation system.
My pre-ordered 7Plus 256Gb shows as delivery for 20-22 September, however on the order status it is still processing and not even being made ready for dispatch. I appreciate there are two days to go before I should start crying, however this would be the first time I haven't had an Apple product delivered on or before the estimated delivery date.

To update, phone collected in less than two hours after expressing interest and ordering!
They confirmed that the business teams have access to stock that is not listed on the website.
Is it a 7 Plus in either black colour? If so, you are very lucky indeed! If not, eh, not so amazing now. They confirmed that the business teams have access to stock that is not listed on the website.
