Problem with Music Magpie damaging a phone.
Discussion
Must admit, another happy musicmagpie user here, sold a few things to them, very impressed with the communication, the speed and always received what I was quoted - latest one (Iphone 7) sent, they never received it, sent a picture of the tracking label and they refunded me the whole amount even though they did not have the phone (allegedly).
Would use them again in a heartbeat...

I’ve used them before but just for CDs and they we’re really good, few mates used them too with no issues. But there are a lot of complaints online about items being assessed wrongly or returned in an even worse state. I can’t imagine a big well known company like that would be deliberately scamming me, so I’m guessing either the new boy knocked it off the work bench by accident or parcelfarce f**ked it. It’s not a massive amount of money tbh, but it was mint and barely used, gits.
Edit: offer went from £115-£9.50 so if it is damaged it’s totally knackered now I guess.

I've tried to sell two tablets to Cex. Both times they reported them bent. Both times they were mint before they set off.
I assume the post is using every second package as a football.
I have used CEX but drop them off at the shop. They, and you, can see what is going on so no queries.I assume the post is using every second package as a football.
I’ve had great experiences with MM & recently sold a 2020 iPhone SE2 to them.
They paid £205, when others were only paying £140 or so.
The only issue I had was a few years back when I sold a old refurbished iPad to them. They paid less as apparently it had a replacement screen fitted, which I didn’t realise.

Yup. Never again. I ended getting more for them on ebay listed as bent anyway. The post really has gone markedly downhill in recent times. At one point three orders sent by post in a row never arrived.
In September they offered me £370 for my old (but absolutely mint condition) 2014 MacBook Pro - pretty much the same price I'd receive on eBay without the potential selling hassles.
I duly packaged it up and sent it off only to receive an email back to say the battery was defective and wouldn't hold a charge, so the £370 offer would be reduced to £37!
Told them to do one and send it back - which took them best part of a fortnight - but in short there must be something seriously wrong with their electricity supply; not only did it still have 96% battery life when I opened the box, but the "defective" battery charges perfectly from it's original Apple charger and still gets nearly 6 hours of run time!

Just an update: after rejecting the offer for my PS4 I got it delivered back to me by music magpie, admittedly well wrapped and pretty quick given it was over the Christmas break. They had put a sticker on the damage which was some heavy scratches and a hairline crack on one corner of it, which wasn’t there before and almost certainly done by RM in transit.
Took it into Game yesterday with my sons Xbox One S and they were really good, got around £160 cash for both which is less than Music magpie offered but more than I would have got after the damage and pretty much the going rate. So worked out ok in the end, but if I used them again I would package very very securely and take pictures, along with serial numbers etc.
