Hmmm... memories of layers araldite and silver foil replacing swathes of body of my first car, I swear it was probably the most structurally sound part....Chemistry tricks with baking powder to get it to cure faster and someone above mentioned tissue paper (giving it some structure to bond around I guess?) have been around a while and will work with any manufacturer's superglue not just Supafix.
Really not that difficult to make home made composite materials..
