PC Dvd drive doesnt see disc ?
Discussion
OK
First up this is just personal experiences but I find PC/ Laptop drives notoriously "picky" about discs. For that reason when I do a reinstall of an OS I ALWAYS use my own external DVD Drive rather than get half way through and the thing fails.
The inbuilt DVD drives just seem to attract dust, not be bale to read this or that disc.

^^^ What gpo said ^^^ aside from cleaning the disc if the drive won't play there's not much you can do. Had many an occasion where a drive will just not read a disc (but will read others) - hence I also picked up an external DVD/CD RW drive which as yet has never let me down.
