How can you search the HDD of an iMac to see all the files created on a specific day?

I clicked a spam email by mistake the other day which took me to some weird website that made my Mac start making a horrible buzzing noise. Sophos did find something and deleted it (although no idea if that was something else) but I want to manually check as well.

The dodgy site the spam took me to was www.biki bikishop.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/guilder.php

I've put the space in the work bikibiki to stop anyone clicking on here without realising.

Thanks
Gary

Go to the search field in finder and type in anything - a letter is fine.

This brings up the advanced filters. You can then add various filters - dates/times, types, modified, etc.

HTH. It isn't the most intuitive.

If you're on the latest version of macOS, you could just ask Siri to show you all files created today/yesterday/whatever date.

Having said that, if it is anything dodgy it won't be anywhere that you can find it.

I've not moved OS yet so no Siri.

I actually did a search of the entire HDD and nothing seems to be there. Coupled with Sophos deleting one dodgy file I am guessing I'm ok :gulp:

Malwarebytes also do a mac version. No idea if it is any use though. And bit fender have a free app for the belt and braces approach.

Never found anything myself.
